Spawn protection & out-of-bounds range

Situation: There is currently a lack of adequate spawn protection for both attackers & defenders in both the Invasion and Assault gamemodes. It’s currently possible for defenders to stand very close to the attacking spawn, which has been leading to relatively widespread spawn camping. This is especially easy when hiding your entire squad behind some bushes and going in one soldier at a time.

Suggestion: Create an out-of-bounds zone near the attackers’ (and defenders on some points) spawnpoints. Enforce this by adding a timer to the retreat once a section is lost, so that the defenders are forced to protect their new objectives, rather than sit in a spawn and farming kills. If there is no other way of doing this, add objects to hide the attackers’ spawn behind.

Out-of-bounds range
Situation: The second and fourth points on the Invasion map facilitate a situation wherein a defending tank can sit out-of-bounds and snipe into either the objective or a spawn. This has leads to stagnating meatgrinders (which admittedly can be pretty fun) but mostly leads to frustration at the inability to change the situation.

Solution: Change the spawns of tanks where possible, or add more line-of-sight blocking objects to force the tanks into the playable areas.

The problem here is that with mortars, they can be fired from within spawn. Making it more difficult to get there means mortars can not be countered anymore. You already have to sacrifice 1+ soldier by running into it with a grenade, losing health by the protection zone, just to suicide bomb that squad.

Or they can simply prevent mortars/tanks/MG nests/etc from being used from within their own spawns, but allow basic weapons like rifles/SMGs/etc to be used from spawn.

Agree. I was in a game in which one guy was constantly firing mortar rounds at the cap zones in invasion. It was literal hell. Luckily I capped the last point with my last available squad. The mortar took our respawn from over 800 in the 3rd point to less than 300 in the last two. The fact that there is no counter tactic against them is discouraging if you are in the lower levels. And once more players are able to acquire mortars, invasion in the current game’s state will be unplayable as Axis.

Mortar’s range should be restricted in smaller maps and they shouldn’t be able to fire from the spawn. And the ammo should be limited. This guy was firing nonstop from the 2nd point until the 4th. And the same guy was also able to exploit a floor glitch to set up an MG. There was no way to get close to him. Had to snipe him down. I don’t understand why devs wouldn’t invest time in fixing such basic issues in the game but would rather make useless stuff like the PvP mode. If only they stopped reading the sekret dokuments and focused on the game.
