So, I’m creating this thread to centralise a topic on the matter.
Since Darkflow removed any form of spawn protection on rally beacons, I want to know what your opinions on the matter are.
Should there be no protection, full stop?
Should there be limited protection to stop you spawning and dying instantly?
Should it be reinstated?
I mainly ask this, because recently I have had matches where I have spawn into a rally beacon to find an enemy tank is sat spawn camping the point, or an aircraft has dropped its 100/250/500kg bomb and it detonates as a spawn, instantly killing my squad and knocking an all important spawn life away on conquest.
I’m in favour of some form of protection, even if its just reduced damage for x seconds or x distance from spawn beacon. Resulting in insta deaths not occuring, but enough protection to prevent these frustrating events occurring in future.
Spawn protection should be present on default spawns for few seconds.
But no protection on rally points - they are example of high reward for high risk.
Spawn beacons are a risk vs reward option, you risk dying faster by spawning on them for the reward of closer and more useful (read: tactical) spawns. I think having zero spawn protection for them is ideal. A scenario of them being abused would be putting them behind barricades or low protection, if protection was enabled for say, 5 seconds, that would be 5 seconds of being able to move freely and setup to fire on passing opposing teams.
Normal spawns should have protection of some sort, they are pretty far out sometimes, and it’ll keep people from trying to camp the spawns by planes or other means.
I love the rally point concept in Enlisted; although, I do hope they fine tune them a bit more. I’m glad they finally got rid of the spawn protection.
I would like to see them changed a bit though as the firehose effect can be pretty crazy at times. I was in a tank and soldiers were pouring out of a point like crazy. It was a blood bath and my team wasn’t advancing close enough to shut it off… Lots of kills, but I’m not sure if that is ideal gameplay. It seems some players see spawning into certain death as a challenge to be overcame instead of an indicator to pick a different spawn point.
I’d like to see more rally points being able to be placed on the map itself with less functionality. Maybe one per player at a time or something similar and maybe a limited number of spawns before they auto destruct.
Why does this need a mega thread? I believe it was already settled because people wouldn’t take any other adjustments besides flat out removing SP on rallies. Like the changes are already here.
protection on the basic spawn point look very needed to me since every 2 games, the spawn get perma bombed for the whole match… its pretty much a duel of radio operators at this point.
It’s pretty simple really. The more you play the more you will learn where the good spawn points are and where the bad spawn points are.
If you choose to spawn to a forward point and your squad gets whacked then learn from it. Make choices for yourself … don’t blame others for your mistakes … learn to play …
Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawn. Heard it all before and it never fucking changes. The only thing that prevents players from getting punished by their moronic teammates is the fact that you’re prevented from spawning on rallies if an enemy is within 20m of it. That doesn’t always work either.
I played a game last night on the Swamp map where an enemy mortar had worked out exactly where our default spawn point was, due to lack of spawn protection he was able to farm the spawn point for nearly 200 kills in a game where 2nd place was at ~70.
Why remove default spawn protection? It makes no sense…
