Soviet mains - why use PPSH over AS44?

Hi all, I play a lot of BRV Germany and find myself being faced against a lot more PPSH over AS44 and I want to know why?

Why does a soviet pick this weapon?

Im far from a Soviet main, but Ppsh41 is way more iconic than AS-44 or Fedorov Avtomat.

so from a cosmetic reason rather than for better TTK / recoil etc?

SMGs are obsolete in BR5, they are only superior to other weapons at very close ranges.
Though soldiers like APC driver, pilot or tank crew cant carry AR or SF rifle so those do pick SMG (ppsh41) but because they dont have access to better.

But yeah, if you see someone use ppsh41 with assaulters, he is doing it for authenticity or he is hoping for close range gun fights.

ppsh has 71 rds and an insane ROF

brilliant guerilla weapon

id rather use as 44 because of its BIASED shots deviation (which is literally less than a blot action rifle)

but overall id choose the avtomat ofc

I have two squads of AS-44’s and two of PPSH’s in my 12 slot BR5 lineups, and I almost always use the two AS-44’s and rarely use the PPSH’s.

why not AS44? its very rare on BRV i come across them

It’s much better in cqc.

I use a mix of those (AS and Ppsh41. I don’t use Fedorov as it’s cringe).

I do the same for axis. Captured ppsh for one squad, stg44 for another. And the premium suomi.

The choice will depend if the cap is indoors, among multiple small buildings or in the open.

Oh, since forever.

Cringe as is, “it’s so overbuffed it’s cringe”. No other thing received as many buffs over the years it’s ridiculous. No recoil at all… but full power rounds… bayonets… laser accuracy… no downside.

I prefer the proto ass44 instead. A better (because Soviets obviously) stg44 but still comparable.

Idk my russian are armed with event and bp gun and my pilot with a bunch of ppsh for obvious reason

And as always, reports with proof of WW2 era AS44 having only 520 RPM firerate are ignored completly.

okay, but going with weapons that are worse bc the better ones are ‘cringe’ affects how you play

going with good or OP weapons like the avs 36 20 or the federov (25) isnt cringe XD

it looks cooler and more iconic, but i’d very much prefer ppsh, drum thompson, ppta, mkb42 going to 4, they’d feel great there

idk about Joe but i use as44 on my paratrooper since i find them nicer to shoot than federov.

and it easier to clear enemy around my box imo.

I don’t use those either, but am fond of the AVT.

Look, I’m not telling you what to use or not, I just said what I personally like. You just joined what, last year? Fedov got history in this game… a cringeworthy one.
I just don’t like weapons making my eyes rolls when I play.
I don’t care about what others use.
