Oh, I just mean that Soviets CAS is perhaps already the most powerful in br3. In tank busting as well.
It’s not weak.
But sure, it doesn’t prevent the addition of new, different planes. It’s the reason, where we had a different:
- Soviets DON’T NEED new br3 planes, because they are powerful. BUT, new planes ARE NICE, even if not needed.
I’ll never say no to new planes. Just not for a buff or because they struggles, because they do more than fine. I’ll say yes because I like variety.

The russian one actually has stronger bombs than this. It’s two two 100kg bombs not two 100lb bombs. They essentially equal to 250lbs and then it has the one 250kg bomb which is essentially 500lbs.
Sounds like you just want a plane with a 1,000lb bomb on it. No way should the pe-2 get multiple of these. As everyone else has said, the 100kg bomb (250lbs) is strong enough to blow up any tank in BR2-4. In my opinion having multiple 100kg bombs is much better than having 1 singular 500kg bomb.
Probably it’s just a difference in playstyle, but I personally believe that the Soviet BR 3 has the highest anti-tank capability of any faction. The Yak-9K with its extremely high destructive power is my absolute favorite, but the 37 mm cannons on the Yak-9T and IL-2-37 are the best counter to German tank spam.
Even though the La-5FN can only carry two 50 kg bombs, its excellent maneuverability makes it extremely effective against tanks.
The IL-2M3 is slow, but at least it can actually deal with tanks.
