Soviet BR 1 Attacker Plane: Be-4

As we all know, the Soviets lack a tech tree attacker plane for BR 1. The only option you really have is the U-2, which can’t be used as a serious way to help your team (and is also a premium collectible squad).

To supplement for the lack of a BR 1 attacker plane, I suggest adding the Beriev Be-4 to the tech tree, foldered with the SB-2m.

Potential in-game description:
Be-4 - a single engine reconnaissance seaplane operated by the Soviet Navy. 47 units were built from 1940 to 1945.

Crew: 2

Armament:

  • 1x rear facing 7.62 mm ShKAS machine gun
  • 2x kg FAB-100sv bomb

Flying characteristics:

  • Maximum speed (km/h): 365.19
  • Maximum climb rate (m/sec): 13.43
  • Best full turn time (sec): 18.55

My Comments:
I’m aware that the flying stats are kind of weak, but I don’t want to make them too historically inaccurate. As for the flying stats, I got the max speed by setting a proportion: (Su-2 ingame speed*Be-4 wikipedia speed)/Su-2 wikipedia speed.

For the other 2 flying stats, I just used the IL-2-37 as a placeholder.

It will be faster than the SOC-1 Seagull and have a decent bombload, so it will still be decent on its BR. And just like the E13A1, it does not have a frontal machine gun. It is also only BR 1.

Not to mention that it will be the only tech tree attacker plane of its BR, so even if it performed poorly, there will still be some players that may use it.

What bomb load should the Be-4 get? (Max payload 300 kg)
  • 2x 100 kg bombs
  • 3x 100 kg bombs
  • 1x 250 kg bomb

2x 50kg like all other BR1 attackers.

Potez 633 has 2x 200kg bombs and a front machine gun

That is not the first bomber unlocked which i’m assuming you want this to me… the structure of this plane fits all of the other ones in that aspect… but if it isn’t then i suppose.

Potez is literally the first bomber unlocked, at least for Germany?

This would just end up as a waste of dev time, just like the Squeezy Boi

Not having front mounted weaponry is a huge problem. It is for the E13A1 for Japan and it’d be for this.

The only trouble is, there’s nowhere to put him on the water)

Was i mistaken? Was it the seagull for US that’s classed as attacker? in that case i digress

WTF are you talking about ? There is BR I fighters with 4x50 kg bombs or 2x100 kg bombs… or 1 x 250 kg.

The US seagull and the Japanese BR I ground attacker where made for a campaign that had worse vehicles then the other campaigns and are not standard for nothing really. This is vehicles that are absolutely obsolete even for BR I. The seagull is reconnaissance plane not a ground attacker. Its a Scout plane and not a ground attacker how can be a standard for a ground attacker when its not?

Are you seriously going to reference re 2001? a legacy premium?

Anyway… this looks like a float plane but i know it’s not… assumed it would follow all of the other ones and placed as a first unlock.

But i was mistaken on the armament and class… perhaps i could have actually looked in game but i was just winding down…

HS 123 Is a fighter then? No reason in comparing a bomber to fighter

Seems as if seagull is the only example of such getting 2 then… as i was not aware that the japan one got 4 60kg.

If this is placed later in the tree then such armament is acceptable… maybe after MiG 3

Im having it why not ? I use it all the time and Iove it.

Well yes but the problem is far better plane then the US one its more of a Curtiss sc seahawk level they are still not ground attackers but are far far better. The Be-4 can carry even rockets. The Japanese one is a bit better since it can be fixed there is variant with 1x250 kg bomb and cannons but the US one I have no idea why its in the game abysmal plane.

Its a starting plane but far better then the seagull its like the Japanese A5M4 and the Soviet I-153 that are all starting planes and the seagull is just a joke it has stats of a ground attacker with payload of a fighter useless same as the Japanese br I ground attacker.

Well I really doubt we will get it since the devs will go for a real ground attacker and not a scout plane. The scout planes that are in the game are from old concept of the game with campaigns and after the merge they became obsolete since there is no need of scout planes being classified as ground attackers. The seagull and Aichi are not comparable planes to something like I-153 M-62.

So the devs should have put the US and Japanese scout planes in a legacy squad and put in TT real ground attackers at the moment Japan has BR I ground attackers in BR II so they can be downgraded. For US we need just new.

The standard payload for a fighter plane in BR I is 2x100 kg bombs Allies , Axis and Soviets have fighters at BR I with that payload so a BR I ground attacker must be something with payload of 250 kg + or have some very good anti armor guns. Even the Mig 3 has 2 x 20 mm cannons and its the only boom and zoom plane in BR I so its very unique plane and insane performance and speed for a BR I plane on a level of Ki-44.

Or dont add it at all… to note i also voted no

But my references were also illogical… the first unlock is already sorted out and it’s unlikely they would change it.

Japanese one gets 4 unlike the US… soviets fight japan and germany which their first unlocked bi plane gets 4… so fair enough.

I am pretty sure there are German BR1 Attackers with 2x 200kg bombs

aGAIN… this seems like it would be the first unlock in the tree… looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, it’s a duck.

Furthermore that was an inaccurate statement that i didn’t even word properly… i suppose i could have said like the other initial unlocks… saw the structure of the plane and attributed it to that.

Even then it wouldn’t be true… the japan one gets 4x 60kg.

So what? Seriously, so what, if it’s unlocked earlier? It doesn’t matter.

Well… like I said with my flawed logic then it should follow the rules of the other ones… yet i was mistaken as the japan one has 4x… I was initially thinking of US.
