Soviet body armor problem

Soviet plate armor provides full weapon damage reduction
This is not the case though, it has historically not been effective against full power rifle rounds, so it shouldn’t provide the reduction from machine guns and rifles

The thing is it doesnt, 10% damage reduction is nowhere near enough to protect you from rifles at any distance, maybe one bullet fired from an MG at 300 meter distance wouldnt down you but that is just perfect conditons…

It’s not a question of if it’s useful, it’s a question of whether it should exist

Yes it should, it is 2mm of hardended steel, at a sharp angle it would deflect even rifle bullets if the soldier was lucky enough.

I don’t think it’s problematic. There’s is literally no need to bully Soviets even more.

Is correct when you parrot it with +35% vitality and Greater chance to get in downed state upon taking fatal damage, +50% downed state time before death.

Really make it hard for you to kill that person especially an entire squad with that perk loadout.

Personally I don’t like it because it’s a cosmetic item that has (smal but still) gameplay effect.

Either remove the damage decrease or make it a proper item you can equip. Not this weird… thing.

I don’t object to decorations having their own little effect, it’s fun in a way and it also lets people know “hey, that’s why it’s there”
But I hope the game can be accurate enough. Plate armor should reduce damage from pistol bullets instead of all bullets.

thats shuch a nitpick, its hardly noticeable and has 0 effect on balance

Decoration is decoration. It shouldn’t affect stats.

I don’t think there’s any problem with this.
Armor do can provide better protection than uniforms, even if it unable to withstand rifle bullets.
And armor actually reduces your movement speed by 5%.

It wouldn’t be a problem if they would stop trying to 1:1 mirror the Soviet load outs with the Germans. They get everything the Axis have plus the armor. It is what it is though, Germans still crush in Berlin :man_shrugging:t3:

Very petty thing to complain about.

I guess the reee would be harder if it actually stopped pistol calibre rounds.

I know the 10% doesnt do much but it still means a bit more ressistant to instakill as opposed to just downed. And if they continue to just mirror german stuff like the AS 44 this 10 % can matter. But only if the match isnt already imbalanced by playerbase already.

The armor only reduce 10% of damage

You need arround 10 or 15 to kill someone (if him have perk)
So, bolties still can OneShot, SF and AR can kill whit 2 or 3 bullets
It’s not really worth it

It is worth it it deals with pesky snipers from across the map it makes them redundant.

To my understanding the damge over 10 dictates the chance of it being a down vs a instakill so even a little less extra damage can have an impact. If 12 dmg (normal MG) is reduced by 1,2 dmg its only 0,8 dmg going into the downed vs kill lottery compared to 2 dmg. And less if it wasnt point blank.
I am not 100% sure if this is how its done or not so I could be wrong.

I am awear that this does not matter if you lost the gunfight with the othere player but if you win this can mean still having the AT soldier more often when you needed it the most.

Currently this isnt that big of a problem if sides are supposed to be assymetric but with stuff like as44 I am not sure.

I don’t think AS-44 is better than fedorov so nothing has changed for me.
