The Soviet bias is ridiculous, especially on their tanks. I just played as the Germans in a BR2/3 match…MULTIPLE times I needed entire squads armed with TNT and 3 explosive packs each JUST to track KV-1’s and T-34’s…this is RIDICULOUS!
Do you agree that Devs NEED to fix this IMMEDIATELY?
No kidding…I was raging playing because our team couldn’t kill tanks…then with all the body armour running at me…BRUTAL! What’s sad was I was using countless TNT charges and more then 10 explosive packs just to track it so planes could direct hit them to take them out…Panzer IVs couldn’t even pen them.
T-34s are oddly resistant to overpressure, which makes no sense and also makes them very resistant to explosive packs. KV-1s can’t be overpressured the side at all so they’re only killable with explosive packs and TNT from the top or bottom (engine decks, turret roof, or thrown underneath).
That being said there are some things to make them not as annoying to deal with:
Fix the collision physics of explosive packs - They like to roll and tumble on air when they could just lay flat, this makes their damage inconsistent upon detonation.
Buff overpressure radius across the board - This would increase the radius that allows TNT charges and explosive packs to punch through armor, making them do more consistent damage.
Downtier vehicles - The Stug III F, the Na-To, and basically every Japanese attack plane is overtiered for what they deliver. Moving these vehicles down would provide a more efficient way to kill enemy tanks.
New faction specific equipment - Equipment like the lunge mine for Japan provide an excellent AT performance that no other nation gets. Weapons like the Panzerknacker for Germany could provide a similar AT capability to deal with pesky tanks in an uptier.
For a KV-1, I had 3 squad members standing on the tank dropping TNT and explosive packs on the engine compartment and hatch, while some other squad was using repeated AT on it…only to track it…it even sounded like the Panzer IV ricocheted off the side.
Explosive pack has less penetration than the side armor of both of those tanks… i know for sure the kv1 all around i can’t recall for the t-34 though but i know i don’t bother trying to kill the bot tanks that use it with packs.
Word of advice, don’t bother throwing explosion packs at KV-1s.
T34 are kinda immune to detpacks, which makes no sense - KV1 however has ridiculously thick top, rear and side armor, so in this specific case it makes sense that KV1 is very resilient.
That being said, detpacks should be much much more effective at blowing off tracks in general.
Unless I see exactly what happened I can’t really explain it. But yeah the KVs can be extremely annoying to kill, T-34s can also be annoying to kill for no good reason.
The only issue i’ve faced with the kv1 while playing japan are the relentless number of degenerates who waste the plane… this is especially a problem when playing japan, for some reason it attracts the worst of them.
If only there was a dedicated anti tank weapon at BR 2 and 3 capable of obliterating KVs and T-34s in a single hit due to their ammo and fuel tanks spread across both sides of the hull.
