Sources on Thompson SMG fire rate ingame?

It is often demanded to provide sources for changes to gun stats ingame (namely cyclic rate), but can we get sources on current stats on some weapons?

Namely, various Thompson SMG.

I mean, what’s the harm in some more knowledge? Surely devs would be kind enough to share?

Well… it has been tried for over a year with the fnab but to no avail it seems.

There are quite some cool videos about various Thompsons and their mechanical differences from Gun Jesus aka Forgotten weapons.

The US tried to make Thompsons cheaper and removed some unnecessary internal parts, made the bolt lighter which increased the rate of fire - which wasn’t really desired, so they then made the bolts heavier again in later versions.

Different RPMs are actually historically accurate, what probably isn’t accurate is the Soviet event 100 round drum Thompson - for whatever reason those have over 1000 rpm in the game, which is ludicrous for a Thompson.

It’s for the Soviets, that’s why it has such a high rate of fire

For a 100 rd smg? Not at all.

for a thompson, as in irl. That’s what he meant

Well it’s only a byproduct of it technically being upgraded and that whole debacle… US 1921AC has 900 unupgraded which was the guns fire rate in some configurations IRL.

Even when someone seems to produce tech documents to support a weapon change, it seems to fall upon deaf ears at Gaijin. If you want my opinion, my guess is the Dev’s get their tech documents the same place most of it’s players get their’s…GOOGLE :joy:
