Initially I didn’t like it hardly but heard plenty of other people enjoying it. Past few days though it seems like it’s nothing but complaints about the campaign. Has the public opinion changed that quickly?
for me, it’s… meh.
more towards the good side.
would have been better if the overhall campaign or update it self wasn’t that rushed though…
p.s.
about popular opinion,
i think it’s normal. because people quite quickly have the habits of giving rushed judges, and then finds out all the issues laters.
Well I have a plethora of complaints but it seemed like it was just me at the initial launch
which… a PTS server would solve alot of them… but what do we know. we ain’t in charge.
( of at least 5 months prior since the CBT of each campaigns didn’t really changed much )
( but then people would complain either way )
Ya, was thinking about that earlier. Get feedback from the players and adjust it accordingly but the devs seemingly don’t give a shit what the playerbase is asking for interestingly enough.
eh… that’s kinda the point.
in like almost 2 years, i have yet to understand their priorities.
( i mean, kinda obs enoguh, but i was talking about what in their mind is a priority when it comes to fixes, and how release campaigns. )
worst part is, there are actual testers that are getting payed. and yet we get those results.
maybe rurmors, or maybe they actually do what they can and we don’t know it.
all we know, communication is lacking at best.
( still better than a few years back. i’ll give them that as every alpha testers knows )
Yup, they are focused on graphics and effects instead of actual gameplay fixes. Weapon balancing, map changes and matchmaking most of all. Want the game to succeed but these devs are not doing themselves any favors.
well limited amount of testers cant test everything. idk about game testing exactly, but i know that in some companies they are using test scenarios. e.g. they make new vehicle, so they test normal player interaction with it, but they dont test what happens when you put tiger on a stool. only by putting more players they come into contact with wide array of bugs.
Pacific got problems to correct:
- Some objective are instantly cap.
- Some objective placement make no sens, or can not be reach by the defender when it spawn
- US weapon are way better: BA with decent sights, M13, SMG, BAR etc…
- The most unusable weapon in the game are now Japanese.
- Planes are more useless than in Berlin while all the map are in fact open area
- Few bugs that need to be corrected
- Tank game play and Plane gameplay feel quite boring
- Bot that can kill you true the bushes… again.
But it’s a the end it’s a good/very good addition to the game:
- Amazing environment
- Good new mechanics added (tank commander, banzai charge)
- Finally make usefull Moltov and AT gun.
- Has successfully give an answere to the det pack spam with new throwable (moltov are now usefull, phosphorus grenade)
- A new faction
- Half track (even if the M13 should have been Higher in the tree, the M13 spam is a pain in the ass if you are the only dude in the team who take care of it)
At the end it’s definitly better than Stalingrad, and with a little correction it can reach the top 3 campaign. Right now it’s the 4th best for me.
Now that should to create more maps for all campaign and correct the bugs, and improve the AI.
And then Steam.
Personally I prefer Stalingrad. I really can’t stand Pacific at the moment but I really want to play as the japs.
idk why would anyone take planes now… 3km from cap to rearm zone, slow speed, shitty payload, no funnels for easy bombing. they made planes exclusively AT weapon and maybe for attacker cap clearing weapon (although not so effective).
maps are very open and flanking is much more effective. with 2-3 good rally point placement defenders stand no chance. but cause maps are open people spam AA cause it is most effective weapon against infantry and half tracks. snipers actually seem like good choice for this map cause of distance you are engaging enemy on and regular iron sights suck. rally points arent so close like in another campaigns. range where you can build them goes anywhere from 60-80m. caps are also big, so it takes time to clear them.
I will die on a hill saying that the Arisaka sights are good if you get used to them.
Lol, I don’t have the patience to try and like them.
Good for you.
It’s not my problem anymore
I totally agree.
And sometime you lost them just because you can not find where the ennemy hide. It’s very frustrating to conquer something by hiding and not fighting.
Ya, this game needs larger cap points but the devs went about it all wrong. With the larger cap points, they made it hard as hell to find people hiding in them which makes this issue somehow worse.
specially when they are somewhere in the floor.
Pacific is the only campaign right now that I could get away with using mostly bolt actions since most other campaigns I either use PPSh or STG.
The balance is pretty horrendous but I think the campaign could be good if it was tweaked significantly.
I am loving the new campaign, and plus Enlisted is still in beta of course there’s going to be issues
