Something to be learned from combat footage

No Soldier Carried His Rifle the Same

Spoiler

One of the first things I noticed in combat footage is that no soldier is the same. Each is his own person and his preferred way of doing things in accordance with his military’s doctrine. This is especially clear when watching the handling of their rifles. There were two distinct ways they would hold their weapons when sprinting.

One Handed Hold

The one-handed hold may be the most used way to hold a rifle while sprinting, and for good reason. Scientifically speaking, it is the most effective of the two styles in maximizing speed, as you are getting your hands up to your ears when sprinting. The countries I saw this the most from are Germany and Japan.

Two-Handed Rifle hold

The two-handed rifle hold tended to be used by the US and the Soviets. Tactically, it was more effective than the one-hand hold, as you were quicker to aim your gun.

Add Both Sprinting Styles

Each country having its own style of sprinting would be very interesting. Only two other FPS games do this, and neither is at a competitive level with Enlisted. The Axis factions could get the one-hand sprinting style, while the Allied factions could get the two-handed style since they were most likely to use it.

They could have it set to random per soldier with axis nations having higher odds to do so

This would be wonderful as well.

When you run wildly, you are barely conscious, but you also feel the wind in your ears and they should also add a slight vibration to the camera when you take steps when you run like that, it’s not like you’re on roller skates

And this would be going a little to the extreme with the immersion but personally I would like in addition to the vibration when one runs like this, with each “careless” step that one takes along with the vibration one also feels a “low rumble” inside the head, “inside the brain”, is a rumble that fills the entire interior… I sense that it depends on the mass of each individual… but it was always there when I run (and I am thin), it would seem like an exquisite detail to me, I haven’t seen it in any game, but since this company is so dedicated to the immersion section… I’ll leave it just in case

Sure does. Feels other worldly at times.

I hope the devs are seeing this.
