Remote control systems for firearms were not common during World War II.
A gun that is clearly inoperable should not be usable.
However, it can be used if someone is on top of the turret.

Obviously it’s gameplay decision, not realistic one.
We are speaking of game in which soldiers can deploy AT guns just by hammering the air. Doesn’t sound much realistic as well.

I don’t think they’re remote controlled, there’s multiple people in the tank doing different things that you are controlling all at once. If anything the gunners should shoot enemies on their own without you having to tell them because realistically they would all be able to think and act of their own volition as their orders would allow them to
