So I have an idea. lets have both br mode and historically accurate mode
in br mode, the matchmaking will based on the largest br of the weapon player got in hand. still 10v10 and player can play on any map. like seeing tigerII vs is2 in mosco or Stalingrad
in ha mode. the weapons are arranged on time bases and player cannot start the game if player’s choice is way too un-historically accurate.(like ab41 in mosco). And in this mode. maps are accurate to player’s weapon. but in this mode we will have 5 players maximum on each side and 15 ai squads on each side with the basic weapon of the time(like in Stalingrad 98k rifle man with 1 mg guy lead by 1 mp40). because this mode doesn’t have to really consider balance so just make it fun and relaxing for everyone
In order for the game to be historically accurate, that means that one side will be better than the other. So in the games context, people would only play HA mode as the best faction in order to grind the most rewards. We would go back to the same issue we have now with dead factions, except it would never shift around.
For example, people would only play US since its equipment beats Japan easily (the factors that made Imperial Japan a worthy opponent in the real war aren’t replicated in the game).
If you would remove the rewards, then people would never play it. Then people would likely complain that it’s just full of bots.
So there is no easy way to implement HA in this game (even though it was never there to begin with). This new system we have now looks promising as long as they address the serious issues with it.
So the idea of having 5 player and 15ai taking lowest level gear available in that map’s time period is how I reduce the pvp factor with my own understanding of the game. So yea it is unbalanced but 15 ai can make sure that people can have fun on killing
About the reward. I think it should have at least 80-90% of a “br” game. For example the reward of spending 25-30min in a ha mode killing 230+ bots and get a first should equal to or at least 80-90% of the reward of a br game spend 25min killed 78 and get a first
Yeah I mean that would work, but I think a lot of people would complain about not having real players and would get bored eventually.
Same thing happened with lone fighters, nobody played it so they got rid of it.
But then you run into this problem:
I’m not saying it’s a bad idea, you’re just trying to make things work for everybody. I just don’t feel that an historically accurate mode is possible in Enlisted or any game.
If we were historically accurate, then Normandy, Pacific and Tunisia would be Allies screwing over Germany/Japan
Stalingrad and Berlin would be USSR screwing over Germany
So those factions would become dead, since nobody wants to lose constantly.
there is no need to perfect balance or in ha mode only the minimum level of balance are needed.
like in this case. the balance only have to make sure us wont win a 3v5 or 2v5 game. but if people see a 5v5 game in this mode. the player on the weak side should know they are losing. but they will still play it, because at least in ha mode they can get kills. instead of br mode if the whole squad have 1 higher level gun they will be pulled into a full automatic fight
because from my understanding of the game. people will start as the strong side. But will go to the other once they unlocked all the toys and fully equiped. as for those who unlock all the toys, maybe introduce a “risk factor” that give extra return for those who play weak side. which based on real-time win rate
