So, paradropping will be much harder for anyone. This will prevent them to drop everytime and creating ridiculous scenes. Forcing player to play them as ground troops more often
But
since they are going to play as ground troops more often, they need engineer. So make one of the soldier default engineer when they spawned as ground troop.
This is also historically accurate. Paratroopers didnt always jump. They were also used as elite ground troops very often during ww2.
Paratroopers engineers either from your suggestion or from the crate as it is now should ONLY be able to build sandbag walls and ammo. Nothing else. It makes them FAR too strong otherwise.
Paratroopers might be the worst implemetation so far this drastically leans the game towards call of duty style fast-paced arcade shooter.
I can see both sides spamming airdropped squads and meeting opposing team planes in air.

The great “merge” is close and personally wont overlook casting defects anymore since we been beta so long.
They should know already what works and what does not at this point.
Pretty much this. the “pushing a frontline” gameplay, utilizing the large maps, is completely sidelined by the paratroopers. The ability to spawn anywhere and build a rally is too good, and even if defenders somehow manage to clear them out every time, suddenly everybody is getting shot from every direction.
There is no time to fall back either, I often cap 1-2 points in a row with no opposition (depending on the luck of my para spawn timer vs the luck of enemy positioning). I don’t think small tweaks will fix this.
I also can’t help but notice OP suggests to buff planes’ ability to shoot para planes. To this I will say, you already get free 1st place by being a perma pilot and shooting bombers. Buff AA to do it instead.
