I agree that they are quite annoying.
I don’t know if its that they don’t know how, or if its that they are actually incapable. I know a lot of players have pointed out that on Playstation, they are unable to ping. In addition, controllers are fairly limited. I play on Xbox, and I’ve come across a few players that have switched out their ping button for other functions they deem more important for their OWN success, not accounting for teamwork.
It could be trolls, but I’ve also come across a number of players that say they do it so they can get a bunch of kills without having to upgrade their own tanks as it can be resource intensive. (Not a good reason in my opinion.) Some even sometimes just want to use the machine gun, but dont have the option to tell the rest of their squad to stay out.
Generally these guys are either just trolling, trying to reduce friendlies being able to get kills so they can increase their own. On occasion, its that they have a friend on the enemy team that they are trying to help by sabotaging their own.
Laziness and meta-stacking. A lot of people don’t think it should be their job to have an engineer, instead they are built 100% for attacking, no engineers in their group.
Usually its the case of they want to try to keep their squad alive, and instead of having fortifications that can withstand a hit and protect them, they don’t want to mess with engineers. So running away is their next best option.
Again, laziness generally. Instead of helping put up more than one rally point, they’d rather just wait there turn at the one there is. In addition, AI squads can spawn on these, in an attempt to reinforce their team quicker. Unfortunately, when there is only one rally point, everyone gets jammed up.
This game has a LOT do with getting good firing angles. Unfortunately, a lot of people will try to prioritize themselves over the power of a tank. In addition, if they feel like a tank player on their team is getting too many kills, they do this to troll that person.
I think if they made fortifications stronger, teammates would see the necessity for genuine teamwork and spend less time trolling their own team.
