I don’t think they will ever give more slots to free player.
Their monetization model is sadly not based on acute choices.
This is another nonsense move, It’s such a basic thing that I can’t explain how they managed to solve it like this.
Either remove those teams or give that chance to everyone.
You literally don’t know what they’re planning. They could easily just implement option to equip AR on engineer via veteran soldier mechanics.
It’s kinda pointless to be overdramatic about things that are not yet in the game. I myself learned it few days back.
We don’t know enough informations to be able have a relevant opinion on this matter.

Now that you mention it, wouldn’t that mean that Pioneers in other Stalingrad squads also have the ability to use assault rifles? Like AT squad with two Stalingrad Pioneers?
I think they specifically said only engineer squads. But I am not 100% sure. You can check topic in which it was discussed if you are interested.
