So we lost potential

Enlisted is originally a game based on WW2, but it’s already nearing saturation. Except for the Japanese tree, which still has many empty slots, many weapons and vehicles are already densely packed, and BR5 subtly features equipment that surpasses WW2 standards.
Like War Thunder did, the most significant expansion currently expected for Enlisted was to move the war era into the Cold War and beyond.
However, very recently, War Thunder officially announced modern infantry gameplay, including Enlisted’s squad system. While it could be said this was aviable attempt for War Thunder, what about Enlisted?
Sadly, this game’s potential was constrained not by other FPS competitors, but by its own company’s more successful title. Even if expansion into the next era is possible, how far that expansion can go is already predetermined.
Moreover, players who enjoy the Enlisted-style infantry gameplay and modern equipment will naturally gravitate towards War Thunder. The effort to update the matchmaking system seems pointless now.

This sudden team-kill situation is too disconcerting to expect an optimistic future.

“Nearing” might be a bit extreme. There’s a lot of things that could be and should be added. Completely new frontlines and new factions included.

The developers said they arent moving past ww2 a while back. No clue where you got that idea from.

Enlisted will always be more arcadey in terms of infantry. Maps are way too big in war thunder to get a 1 to 1. It’s more like cod warzone than anything else. They won’t be competing very much
