So..Devs...When are you going to let players actually shoot down bomber call ins?

Because as of right now, it would take a A-10 (probably using up all its ammo) to shoot one down. They are EXTREMELY TANKY. Hitting them from the front…hitting them from the rear, hitting them in engine or “critical components” DOES ABSOLUTELY NOTHING. Bomber call ins could get toned down if you let the players have the ability to actually shoot some down. Just a suggestion…

I mean this decision to add bombers, it was clearly never planned from the beginning

If that was so we would actually have decent fighters

The best fighter in moscow is the Bf109 F1 which has 60 rounds of 20mm. 60 that would max kill 1 bomber

Until they fix the models so that they go down just as relatively easily as they do in WT they will continue to suck and be annoying

Hm…today I shot one down with a Zero. If I wouldn’t have been two fast and passed over them, I possibly could have made another kill…but that would have been it. Impossible to get em all down

They take so many hits to die, way more than “regular” planes

I was destroyed all 5 bombers with the IAR in Stalingrad. No server desync, critical parts been hit. Yet: got only credited with 2 as 3 flew into the Wolga river and got no points for that…

As for the Stalingrad, it is relatively easy to shoot it down if you have an Fw190. (I have shot down 20 aircraft. I earned a lot of points.)
However, fighter planes are not readily available, and you don’t know where they will fly from, so you currently have to rely on luck and memory.

What Darkflow needs to do to prevent bombers from being hated in the future is to :

Tell all players which direction the bombers are coming from. Launching fighter planes is completely useless if you can’t predict where they are going to drop their bombs from.

Allow the bombers to be shot down by anti-aircraft guns before they drop their bombs. (Current bombers are too high altitude to be shot down by anti-aircraft guns. The range is also insufficient.)

The time between when a bomber appears in the map area and when it drops its bombs should be extended.

Nerf defensive machine guns and armor to make it easier than ever to shoot them down.

These should be implemented immediately.

well they come from the enemy side, problem is… if you plan to spawn a plane after the enemy calls for bombers, then you have to fly the distance from your spawn point, pass the battle area and go on to intercept them. In all this time they’ve already closed the distance and you only get one pass facing them straight on.
By the time you turn around to engage the bomber formation from behind, they’ve already dropped the bombs.
