Stalingrado was supposed to be the revolution, a campaign that according to the developers, given the extensive changes made to the game, would have created a new enlisted. but which turned out to be a worse failure than tunisa (and it took courage in my opinion to make a worse shit but as always the developers leave us speechless)
I warn you from the beginning I have not played stalingrad, I have only tried the BA and the tnt in costum, but I have read and or seen too many things to make me laugh, so you are free to agree with my words or not
the failure of the campaign can be attributed to three factors:
The progression:
the progression has remained completely unchanged, impossible to modify to change the gameplay of the game and stressful and dedicated to automatic weapons, it was not saved thanks to a 30 euro lifetime subscription to the campaign indeed it showed that the development team would kill themselves first yet to think of a decent progression model
Gameplay:
now the changes made to the gemplay are not to be thrown away indeed they are good not perfect but good, the use of TnT the permanent bust to the BA, the management of the stamina the new recoil system play in favor to increase the diversity and the level of replayability of the game, which however is destroyed by: non-functioning bipods, non-existent inertia of the soldiers, maps still too small, dispersion of the shots that does not seem to go away bugs and problem with the AI … (the list is long) this is detrimental to the good work done in the eyes of the players, as they always have to deal with the same problems, again and again
Playerbase:
Now what happens when in a game with a stressful and not fun progression system if there are two factions in the game and one of them is more fun than the other? Answer:
the other will be completely ignored and burned to ashes by the favored faction, this has happened in all campaigns upon release but it seems to me that the developers refuse to accept categorically that something should be done to entice players to use both factions, and so we find ourselves in such situations that will be resolved how? “nerfing the favorite faction for try to resolve playerbase problem”
now, all this has clearly shown the self-imposed limits that enlisted is carrying around are damaging the game, there is no stupid event that can solve the situation, enlisted is destined to become a niche game new free to play both shooter and MMO are announced definitely more fun than enlisted, which will end up taking away the little playerbase of the game made up of casual players leaving the veterans like us of the forum to play alone and with bots (and this already happens sometimes) this is not a rant or a attack on the development team all but a statement from a player who supported this game for a year waiting for the improvements that never came and instead found the same soup, what I ask that all the plyerbase asks is simply to realize the game written in the description on the official website this is the game we want to support , not a bad copy of COD mixed a BFV
so development team if you read these words of mine really think about what is really needed to make this game great, and if you can’t, ask us from the community we are here for this
I have been playing Stalingrad as F2P only and for me I never had any problem performing very well however: I would not choose this campaign over Berlin or Moscow. I have no real personal connection to the eastern front battles so for me It really didn’t bring much to the table.
The maps seemed to be Berlin and the weapons are simply Moscows plus very few new additions here or there.
TNT is awesome! Great addition for sure. The increased recoil on semi autos…not a fan. They seem to nerf everything else to make bolt actions shine which doesnt seem right to me.
The player base problem is the largest issue for me. I was hoping to miss the crazy steam rolls so I waited two weeks to start but it didnt seem to help much unfortunately
I got bored at level 10 as the Axis and switched to the other campaigns as it really didnt offer anything I found the other campaigns didnt. I’ve seen blown up eastern Europe already and have dive bombed my fair share of T34s.
Every campaign in now shitty explosion and full auto spam.
If this continues i’m done with this garbage, i cam fro bolt action, they aren’t even viable in mkb spam stalingrad lol.

Honestly what can they do to remove the (imo stupid) “muh Mkb” argument (aside removing or nerfing it to the ground?)? Soviets already have better cap time and get more tickets per cap (like Axis on Tunisia). If players really need a stupid Avtom to play the Soviets just give it them, Df.
really without the bonus or BP leveling up in campaigns is an even worse pain when you have to unlock the same weapon though one suggestion I read a while back was if you already had an MP-40 in Moscow and were now leveling up for an MP -40 in Normandy, being a “repeat” weapon would give you an experience bonus, which I thought was a great idea, but not the solution to removing difficult campaign progression.
I liked the changes from Stalingrad, except for the MGs, which was more of an annoyance and added to that the fact that the bipod is currently crap, but what disappointed me was; “The idea of the inertia of the soldiers” does not exist, people keep jumping like rabbits, the maps are too small, I actually saw that on a map the distance from point 4 to point 5 I think is less than 40 meters, that is to hell with that, the defender will not have time to respawn, i think the best campaign that is better distributed in terms of capture points, would be tunisia, but only her, the others are almost the same.
if the truth is that this is a problem, we can perhaps have a player base, but having so many campaigns, we are so dispersed, that’s why an idea that I exposed a long time ago was the fact of creating battle fronts, defined by the time, like this we would cover more battles, more weapons, we would limit the copy and paste, as well as reduce the dispersion of the players, but I think that the developers currently, they are not interested in that idea, but we or those who want to will have to make them understand based of evidence that it may be the best path or perhaps the opposite will happen and the current system will really be the triumphant one.
Imo gameplay weise Stalingrad is really fun but the economy is meh.
Also I see that many people complain about Stg spam (personally I haven’t payed attention) so I guess yey for SF rifles that are imo a cancer for a year already!

and that is sadly true, mostly in berlin, this is why for now i only play stalingrad, because is a little more slow paced than the others (my opinion tho).
yet i found that all the points given by the op are mostly true.
althoug i love what they did to the weapons, especialy the BA (NOT the SA) and i think that shoud be in all the other campaigns asap, maybe MAYBE that way we can stop the full auto spam and the -all time- cqc (yet the maps and the cap zone are too small ).
What i really don’t like about stalingrad is the new pay sistem, as a completley f2p user (i live in Argentina, i can’t spend that kind of money), i found awful that we most grind for something that can’t use. At least give us the option to skip those lvl or, if the idea is to give f2p players acces to them in the future, apply the 4X boost only in those lvl.

I’d suggest maybe trying again. I went in and finished Stalingrad allies last night, and I won every match in a competitive manner. Soviet playerbase seems to have arrived finally.
Hopefully it lasts, and it’s not just because of the event. I’ve been having next to no games with any real opposition as axis.
Give the mp43 fate to him Anyway i never talked about mkb but for the incoming nerf of the german, incoming because to low ammount of dude play soviet and wen a faction is to weak the other one is “nerfed”

Stalingrad is fun. I’d even go as far as saying it’s very well balanced equipment wise, compared to other campaigns.
The only variable I see here is the player base. Since Axis faction in Moscow, Tunisia and probably Berlin (haven’t touched that one in a while) is seriously underwhelming, players liking Axis flock to Stalingrad instead, as the weapons here are on par with the Soviets, as opposed to Moscow or Berlin where Soviets have definitely better stuff.
Sure, ppl whine about the mkb in Stalingrad… but they forget they have superior tanks. It balances out nicely in term of firepower.
So the real problem is DF DID NOTHING to keep axis players interested in the other campaigns. Why play axis Moscow at all? Soviets here have everything better, let’s go Stalingrad! Why play Berlin axis? It’s a chore until lvl 20+ when axis gets fg42, until that Soviets stomp with superior equipment vs Volks militia! And Tunisia… Tunisia… Seriously here I feel DF simply hates Italians for some unknown reason.
Stalingrad is absolutely fine equipment wise. But allies player base is diluted between 5 fun campaigns. Axis are diluted between Normandy and Stalingrad.
It undoubtedly is which is why the Soviet players are throwing a fit. They have no clear advantage for once (not early or late) and everything is about as fair as it can be. The issue is, like you said, there are better items else where and other campaigns that favor that faction more than Stalingrad.
