I suggest that when the radioman calls for artillery, he has to option to call for smoke shells instead of HE. HE would be the default, of course. Smoke was used to blind the enemy, cover advancing or withdrawing troops, targeting, etc. This would add an element of realism and tactics to the game. Since smoke grenades are available, I would hope that the addition of smoke shells for artillery would not be difficult to program. Game wise, they would be something like “larger” smoke grenades.
Smoke rounds were available for mortars also, but my suggestion for now is for Artillery Rounds.
