Maybe it does. We cant really know because it never fires

But every gun fires some smoke. Recently the smoke can even cover the sight of the shooter.

Recently? Guess you aren’t a player from the old times, oh man, as soon as OBT came when I joined it looked like a musket battle, the smoke would keep you blind for seconds from a single shot, if someone shoot a SMG near you just give up, smoke for ages. That was one of the fixed things that return after a few updates.
