The current event SMLE Mk III (T) sits at BR3 despite being slightly worse and rarer than the tech tree No.4 Mk I (T). I’m proposing it be moved to BR 2 from BR 3 for a number of reasons.
Britain needs a low BR sniper.
It’s an event weapon so it’s rarer than the TT variant.
Has a slightly lower RoF.
Has a slightly slower reload.
Has a lower magnification scope.
The impact of moving it would be minimal as snipers aren’t overpowered or meta.
There’s already a rifle variant of the SMLE that can be mass equipped.
Overall i don’t think balance would be impacted nor would it overshadow any of the US bolt action rifles.
- Yes, move it to BR 2
- No, keep it at BR 3
- Yes, move it but tweak the stats

The lower magnification scope and the different way of reload is arguably not a bad thing for a sniper rifle.
Also it has the perk of iron sight availability.
If anything I’ll choose this gun over Mk4, so imho no, this gun should absolutely stays in BR3.

Fair opinion, but if i want to use iron sights i would just use the regular version. I can see how duel purpose would be an advantage but not enough to keep it at BR 3 imo.
Already someone argued that this one is better. And the fact that they’re the only 2 stay sight in bolt action snipers to my knowledge is the reason theyre br 3. Or did you not use ur very big brain to realize that fact.
