SMG for flamethrower operators with a Mosin (A very dubious idea)

I’m not so sure about this idea myself. It just popped into my head, and I’m curious what you think.

So, the Mosin in combination with a flamethrower . . . by itself is applicable in some situations . . . and might even be useful…

But it’s not as bad ass mind-blowing as a flamethrower Suomi. That’s why I came up with the idea of simply giving the new Soviet unit the ability to use any SMG. Just like paratroopers.

Pros: Squad could become nearly as useful as a Suomi squad.

Cons: Squad could become TOO useful.

The Soviets are once again getting a squad that can be equipped with any SMG.

So, what do you think?

Interesting take, easier for them to have just handed them the PPSH 41 with a flamethrower attached.

This way seems at least somewhat geared twords breaking the faction specific moulds, and by extension rewriting a small portion of the Soviet bias in a good way. I like this kind of balance!

Not bad, it’s definitely possible to do and much better then more op gear they could have chosen.

For reference:

We don’t need this, so I agree a good middle ground is a weapon swap like proposed.

And a Soviet Lpo-50. Not sure on the exact date of creation on this one.

Wikipedia says that in the mid-fifties

Ah gotcha. I knew it wasn’t world war II era, the designs were more modern. I more so just wanted to point out that the Soviets gained an obsession with flamethrowers starting in WW2. It didn’t end with the mosin or ppsh.
