Slakrrrrrr's Jet Fix of 2026

So, Jets are in Enlisted. They’re here to stay, they aren’t going anywhere. However, it’s undeniable that they negatively affected BR 5, since they made all prop fighters of the same BR worthless, and they have created a net-increase in CAS bombs.

So how do we fix Jet fighters, without making purchased premiums worthless?

The answer: Jet Fighters have their bomb payloads removed, BUT get placed into a new class of planes: INTERCEPTORS.

What Is An Interceptor?

  • An Interceptor class plan in Enlisted would be a plane that is arguably as strong as a fighter one BR above the one it is placed at, but without payloads. It is intended to be used as a direct counter to CAS, in addition to other options like infantry AA.

The Interceptor class, being a different class and squad in this suggestion than a Fighter, would not take up the fighter slot in your team. This means up to 3 planes could be present on a battlefield on each team at a time: a Fighter, an Attacker, and an Interceptor. However, despite the increase in vehicles, there should be a net decrease in anti-infantry HE, since Interceptors would only be capable of strafing with cannons against infantry. Interceptors could be reclassified or added for all BRs for all nations in the future as well, but they can be introduced strictly as a rebalancing of Jets.

Let’s look at how this change would affect the existing jets:

The change is obvious for all tech tree Jet fighters: without bombs, they are spawned to counter enemy prop fighters and attackers, maintain air superiority, and take out light ground targets such as APCs. Depending on the cannons (cough cough 30mm Type 5 cough cough), the planes could still have limited anti-tank capabilities as well.

There’s also a Jet that would REALLY benefit from this change: the Me 262 A-1/U4. It already doesn’t have bombs, but has the nose-mounted 50mm cannon, that specializes against tanks.

IN SUMMARY:

  • Jets are reclassified as “Interceptor III” squad vehicles.
  • Interceptor squads and vehicles become their own plane class. Teams are limited to 1 Interceptor plane, and do not take a Fighter or Attacker slot.
  • Jets have their bombs removed. Interceptors are intended for countering CAS/holding air superiority.
  • Prop fighters such as I-185 (M-82), AP-4C, Bf 109 K-4 and Ki 84 Ko become the top fighter options for their respective factions, but are still vulnerable against BR 5 Interceptors (Jets without bombs).
  • The F-80A-5 and Me 262 A-1/U4 are still valuable purchases despite the loss of suspended ordnance, as they do not fill the Fighter slot, and can hold air superiority, as well as remove soft targets on the ground.
  • The ceiling for BR 5 fighter performance is reduced significantly, meaning future BR 5 Fighter additions for current or new factions are less exclusive, and BR 5 Interceptors can be fast, but do not require bombs.
Would you like to see Jet Fighters become Interceptor class vehicles, and have their bombs removed?

I hope you guys find this proposal interesting, and think it’s a worthy implementation! I think this change would make BR 5 for both infantry and aircraft a lot more dynamic. Please let me know what you think, and I will try to answer any questions regarding this idea!

I have a really hard time seeing dev’s make such a dramatic change at this point.

I think jets were a mistake but feel that most people would consider them useless without bombs.

FWIW, Narwhal is totally underrated. It’s not good against infantry with its current belt but is pretty useful against tanks and planes.

[I voted yes but think that different rearm points for jets that reduces the rearm time advantage would be a reasonable approach too]

Interceptors are basically a type of fighter plane. The big 3 combat plane families are fighters, ground attack, and bombers.

I think it’s silly to divide them further. Jets are just some of the top tier planes in the same way the Tiger 2 is a top tier tank compared to the Panzer I. Should heavy tanks get their own slot too?

Jets aren’t impossible to kill. We certainly should get better AA guns though.

No aircraft belongs in 5 without bombs… or in the game at all really.

I guess if they become separate classes then this is fine.

But changing the contents of my premium purchase is not ok however… just because people dislike HE spam which will happen regardless.

F80 Is a downgrade from meteor and it’s only advantage is the bombs… besides maybe better cockpit view… that doesn’t make sense at all… you will have completely stripped any usefulness of that plane as it’s TT counterpart will just be better flat out.

Not really. Nothing will make this plane useful… it’s too fast to accurately place shots on tanks unlike yak9k which is god tier in that aspect.

You don’t. By this change you will have made the P80 worthless… only advantage being premium bonus with worse cannons than the TT and ability to spawn one after the other… congratulations you have made cycling “worse”.

There is no need for fixing… what there is a need for is the players who complain about these aircraft to scurry theirselves back into their safe space of BR2-3… which i doubt most of them play 5 anyway for other reasons related to the “issue” at hand… issue being people making use of high powered vehicles… in the BR of high powered stuff.

??? Here we can see the true reasoning behind this post… too much HE… well guess what the enemy is supplying too much HE and my jet is an adequate counter.

I have had games where each bomb run there is tank after tank after tank ready to be bombed… if they can spawn them fast enough then it’s right to be able to bomb them as fast as they can supply… i can see how this sounds somewhat stupid however it makes enough sense for me.

Jets and their bombs are a great counter to the ever so prevalent tank spam present especially in 5.

Removing a point in using other planes sure you may have a point… however you can use what you want… you can use prop yet with this change will still be pwned by jet… except he is only left to waiting until the next plane spawns.

If you’ve ever flew an aircraft with only cannons in low BR or even the g10/14 with 30mm waiting for enemy aircraft is extremely boring.

And a problem with bombs? Now you will have two planes to drop bombs while another to take air superiority… that’s arguable worse… but makes somewhat sense.

Also this means possibility of another player now 5 players equaling half the team in vehicles for less objective play all because people can’t handle getting killed by bombs from jets. No thanks.

Sit in an AA and farm the jet.

He will be extremely annoyed with a high possibility of leaving… i have found some experienced players who use them and it becomes exactly that… pick your shots and take out the trash… not putting the trash in a different room.

The issue here is that a plane without ordinance is like a pizza with no sauce, there’s no point in using it.

Personally I think a score requirement is the solution for vehicle imbalance, stronger vehicles take more effort to spawn in.

It’s spawned for the same reason someone would spawn an Engineer squad and build AA. That’s still reason enough, isn’t it?

Except an engineer squad can build rallies, defenses, play the objective, hunt tanks, etc etc.

An interceptor would only be worth spawning if a team is spamming planes, and the frequency of that is going to affect how much it’s even worth running.

I vote for BR6, wonky shite and silly fantasy weapons and jets and other overpowered noize that doesn’t belong.

is double digit vehicle kills in 2 spawns with no para planes or airstrike bombers good enough to be useful?

It’s actually fine. Not quite strong - but serviceable. Flies better than Jabo too.

I say no because that would result in a total of 5 vehicles (excluding apcs) on the battlefield at once, resulting in more annoying spam. Imo jets (like sf rifles) should never have been added because they ultimately break the balance of the game

Good point that I missed. If we continue with teams of 10, we really can’t afford any more slots to vehicles IMHO.

This isn’t fixing anything, but rather nerfing jets to the point of irrelevance.

Any plane without CAS capabilities is effectively just sabotaging its own team. You simply can’t have a class that’s only effective against 1–3 players, while being completely ineffective against the rest of the enemy team.
Not to mention, it would mean yet another squad missing from the objective.

This idea is far from fixing anything. It’s more like creating even more problems.

These arent really top of the food chain props . With Jets in the picture, IMO they should be the BR 4 planes leaving room for the Super Props to be added that have a better time vs Jets.

…but Allied/Commonwealth Super Props will still shit on the other nations even then haha.

Jets with those massive bombs should never have been “fighters” in the first place, they are in ground strike configuration.

(And JETS got their handling artificially improved by removing bomb load physics AND half their fuel weight…NO OTHER PLANE GOT THIS TREATMENT)

I love that in response to the complaint that the German jet with its bomb flew unevely was not to change its bombload to something more balanced, or apply the bomb-load physics buffs just to the German plane.

No, all of them had to be buffed.

Congrats, you solved the problem.

Well, if they also can have some HE ammunation while also being capable of penning tanks like ME,Kikka. I can accept the changes because as someone who uses jets, I find the jets unnecesarry because they really made the other planes and even CAS irrelevant, they have Speed, they have huge bombs, they have good armament, which all three important things that other planes lacks, some lacks good armament, some lacks speed, some lacks good bombs which makes all of them some kind balanced. and Jets ruined all of this.

But I imagine even if this change implemented this will just make “revenge killers” more stronger lol

no

Must all the many, many fighters without any suspended armament have them added then? How is that supposed to work with their current BR placements and stats or should they all be adjusted as well?

This applies to all fighters that aren’t carrying bombs, but pure air-to-air combat aircraft are meaningless if there are no enemy targets that can actually give you points. In other words, even if a P-47 scatters HVAR rockets all over the place while slamming into the ground, you still get nothing out of it.
