I was looking forwards to seeing a 221 armoured car, but not the one we got. I went in practice mode and tried against some soviet tanks, whilst it does pen lighter tanks, it takes several shots to do enough damage.
I have enough slots to try out in low BR preset, but the ROF and damage the gun does, is going to make this a very difficult vehicle to like.
It has great maneuverability, but its gun is only AP, can’t flank infantry like the M8, or Jap Ka-mi(?), so it’s going to be a vehicle which is going to have limited use.
I don’t have a BR1 preset, I think that might be a little too slow for me, in BR1 it might work, but if in BR2, likely to get uptiered against T34, KVs then it will not stand a chance.
I wish we had some form of autocannon which is the variant everyone knows…
Just my feedback, if you tried it on game, tell me your thoughts

yeap, I was shocked it did not have HE rounds for infantry.
It is pretty much worthless or maybe use as a taxi

while we could use the 222 and technicnally would be an improvement.
i’m not sure it would really be an improvement compared to br I and II tanks.
… cause it shouldn’t have been given out as a tank.
even if i’m… spamming at this point.
nevertheless a bit of a shame.
i like that it was introduced, but could have been better ( as a rider ).

It’s a rider or driver vehicle. Should never be in tank slots.

Yeah, because it shouldn’t have been added at all. It doesn’t matter how this vehicle would be implemented. It would always be liability to the team.
Definitely not even enjoyable to play.
A nice bonus for infantry shooting no more
There is little that will make it useful.
On the ru forum, I suggested adding special tags to equipment and putting them in certain squads, but they didn’t listen to me. When a direct example was introduced, everyone thought sharply)
It’s funny to watch it now.
It’s like BR 0.5 vehicle if there ever was such a thing. AFAIK, the 2.8cm gun it uses is a squeeze bore gun, meaning that it’s designed to be the bullet coming out it’s barrel gets squeezed into much smaller diameter in order to achieve higher penetration and high muzzle velocity. The shell it uses also classified as APCR, so the relatively high penetration won’t even work against vehicles with sloped armor on the same BR 1 like T-70 and M5A1 etc. Also ended up having one of the worst post pen damage in the entire game as the tank gun goes since it’s APCR. And the HE shell won’t even do much damage even if it’s added as HE filler on it is pathetic, might as well just try to snipe infantry one by one with APCR.
This vehicle should be removed from the tanker squad and moved into the rider squad instead, then maybe just maybe people might uses it on BR 1 for fun.
If it had a small caliber LMG for infantry and had just AT for vehicles it might stand a chance. I tried it in a few games in the bulge this morning BR3, I was sniping soldiers where I could and got around 20kills, but as soon as someone actually noticed me I was dead… I didn’t expect to live long, it was just to see.
I can imagine the 222, with an autocannon being quite effective, but this 221 is just when I want to meme or play tank snipe

Apparently its gun has 90mm of penetration tho - isnt that even enough to penetrate BR3 vehicles?
I think that light armored vehicle can actually become useful if the devs finally rework post pen damage.
222 with autocanon could get interesting if its gun elevation alows for attacking planes.
In theory, yes. But in reality, since the shell it uses classified as APCR, which means that it would struggles against any sloped armor(This is same as WT), even struggling penetrating T-70. Also it rapidly loses penetration over range(squezee bore guns are like this natually)so the 90mm penetration only at very close range. And even if it managed to penetrate something, post pen dmg is so pathetic that the best bet is just snipe enemy tank crew one by one.
