There are numerous squads that are rarely used (especially in the case of players that put little to no money in the game) simply because they are very situational, especially depending on the map.
My suggestion is to have one of the squad slots be able to be chosen between 2 preset squads at the start of the game (after which it locks in for that game).
Example:
A player presets their flamethrower squad and a mortar squad. If the map has a lot of enclosed spaces, they can take the flamethrower squad at the cost of not being able to use the mortar squad that game.
If however it is a map with much more open objectives, where mortars would be of significant use, they could opt to take the mortar squad instead.
OVERALL
This will allow for more diversity among player squads compositions, and allow players to adjust according to map or other variables, without just picking the most OP classes they can.
The way I see it is that if there is TOO much freedom to picking squads, it creates a game imbalance. There needs to be a majority of squads in the selection that are static (what you choose is what you get).
Meanwhile only one (or two if you buy enough slots) can be switched between like this.
I get that F2P players get less, but this suggestion would help them just as much as it would the other players.
It still holds that there is a fine line between versatility and being OP.
If your concern is that F2P players don’t get as much versatility as players that put money into the game, please keep in mind that the money has to come in SOMEWHERE for the devs.
I’ve seen plenty of F2P players able to hold their own against whales with far more slots than them. Personally, I don’t see the slots as that big of an issue, especially with how cheap the first couple are.
I disagree. The Squads you get are the squads you choose. If you chose to bring a Mortar in your lineup so be it
Even then every Squad is useful in pretty much every map. You can perform anywhere anyhow. You can still use Mortars in more urban maps, there’s still plenty of areas to shoot
Many of the Berlin and Stalingrad maps they are absolutely useless, whereas others of those campaigns they are nearly required.
By allowing you to build a situational squad, it lets you build them to their strengths, rather than just setting up another “well rounded” squad. Helping tor reduce meta builds and increase individualization.
We need more slots for f2p. And the idea of choosing presets at the beggining of a match is a good start.
3 inf slots force ppl to take the most universal and most meta squads. So taking squads I want, puts me in a disadvantage (as I need to remove one of my universal meta squads). I’m penalised for having fun! This is the worst situation that can happen to a game.
That’s still not good argument. It’s extremely p2w currently and it’s hurting game.
We don’t live in perfect world.
This is no longer thing if you are willing to pay. Plus special slots for premium squads will be implemented.
You should just accept the current reality for what it is. 4 vs 10+ slots is just horrifying. And for me unacceptable.
F2P players should be able to get at least some small amount of golds via events or tasks, so they could eventually buy premium account and then slots.
The game is fun as long as you “folow the path”.
I often have situations where I have a lot of fun runing and guning but as soon as I try to do something else, I feel the game fights to stop me.
after the 60 levels, you can obtain/““unlock”” 100 free enlisted gold once per season ( similar to silver cards, bronze, gold orders etc ) as a task essentially even if you don’t own the bp.
