Horrible idea.
Stop shoving every map to all BRs.
Instead, remove Stalingrad and Rzhev from high BRs and remove Berlin, Normandy and Ardennes from low BR.

sounds good for the most part.
with the right decisions this coming update can become very good.
What about removing body armor protection?
Please rework the grenade-throwing animation!
I hope you’ll work on it like you have on giving functional hull MGs on tanks - roughly one BR at a time with each major update. You could even sub-divide it further, doing one BR and type at a time (BR II tech tree one update, BR II event/BP/premiums the next, etc).
I also hope you continue to give weapons with bayonet lugs on them their appropriate bayonets… plenty of guns are still missing bayonets, despite the fact that the bayonet exists as a functional model in game. And Italian semi-auto rifles almost always as a rule lack a bayonet for some reason…
Could you go into more detail what this would mean…?
Because it sounds like you’re planning on doing… more of the same, which isn’t exactly news…? More of the same would be Americans using Canadian rifles (Turner SMLE), Germans using Italian SMGs (Beretta M38), and Brits driving a Canadian tank (Skink).
Yes, overall the Canadians have been getting a little shafted, so it’s interesting you brought them up by name.
How would you continue into the future…? Are you considering releasing event squads without specific new weaponry…? There were many nations involved in WW2, not all of them use entierly new or unique weaponry from what is already in the game, but I feel that they are valuable and interesting additions to the game anyway. Just… tech tree like squads, but they have a unique cosmetics and/or voices, maybe the soldiers you put in automatically conform to the nationality of the event squad…?
Take the British Indian Army as an example - they didn’t really use any perticularily unique gear compared to the rest of the Commonwealth (even in the prototype department), but visually they’d really stand out (“regular” Indian units, Sikhs units, Gurkha units, etc). But it would be a real shame that this was the reason for why we’ll never get to see any real representation for the largest volunteer army in history…?
India, Canada, Slovakia, Croatia, Hungary, Free French… I could go on… there are options out there that don’t require you to dig out a rusty prototype from WW1 just so you can justify the addition of a visually interesting squad to the game.
We’re waiting on more sound mod tests in WT first, they’re still making adjustments as we know with some errors still to solve. When we enable them again, we’ll likely have separate news for it, but it’s not forgotten.
Are we talking about some kind of coherent system with Finns or Hungarians on the Eastern front but not in Tunisia?
Then yes!
Or continuation of comple anti-WW2 random mess?
Then hell no.
Remove movement penalty for flamethrowers?
Reduce moving‑fire penalty for machine guns by 30%!
That’s awesome!
I own the two Tunisian flamethrower squads, the Halloween British flamethrower squad, and the Italian paratrooper flamethrower squad.
They might finally become viable!!!
However, for the old pre‑order premium flamethrower squads: the Mosin‑Nagant flamethrower squad and the Suomi flamethrower squad. Their original trade‑off was reduced flamethrower range in exchange for no mandatory movement penalty.
Now with this upcoming update, for these two special premium squads:
Should we adjust their flamethrower range, or lower their battle rating by one tier
However, the most vital mechanic is still missing: penetration damage. Restoring flamethrower movement speed is a welcome adjustment, yet flamethrowers will still remain very weak without the penetration mechanic.
The old issue persists: when a line of soldiers stand in the line of fire, the corpse of the first casualty blocks the flame jet, so none of the targets behind it get hit.
How about giving the m1941 it’s actual rpm.
Increased flame damage and proper flame jet physics would also be nice.
Machine‑gun spread buff — BR‑4 Germany is in for a treat. With three machine guns: the early‑model MG45, MG42 and MG39, they will be absolutely dominant, haha.
I dare say that, before the Soviets get overwhelmed, American squads might get crushed by German BR‑4 line‑ups first.
I hope with this buff the T24 will be better but I can only wait and see
The main issue is that the core flamethrower flame‑penetration damage mechanic still hasn’t been reverted.
So when facing nine‑man or larger squads, once the first enemy soldier burns to death, his corpse completely blocks the flame jet, and the rest of the unit takes no damage.
That’s really frustrating. In our game, the flamethrower fire is treated purely as a gas stream. Unlike War Thunder’s liquid‑based flamethrowers, it has no projectile arc, long‑range reach or damage fall‑off.
I am kinda torn on this. On one hand I totally agree since 80% of players are running around with this set up and it does make it boring for me I like to see people kill me with different types of weapons and also when I run out of bullets I like to pick up weapons of the floor and I gotta say 8/10 times it was an fg 42, avs 36, type hei or t20 and I would love to see them add more “strong” weapons to the tech tree to change the dynamic or buff the other weapons in a way. Its hard to balance either way. On the other hand every shooter has a competetive scene whether people like it or not and this are usually die hard fans of the game who stick around for a long time and love to have a set of “meta” loadout to compete with other competetive players to really go skill VS skill. I dont know, one solution could be to streamline all weapon s dmg, rpm and acuraccy. SMGs, MGs, ARs, Sniper rifles etc and not concern with “what kind of damage would this caliber do”, etc. Its hard but I know the team will come up with something good in regards to this point. Have a blessed day!
And is this change strictly for assault?
I personally very much enjoy the freedom you get when playing defense versus attack… coming from someone who doesn’t like defense in the first place.
lol. This fantasy you desire will never come to reality… I look forward to your seething when we finally get BRIV Tunisia… albeit it for only one map as it seems.
Yes, assault only
@MajorMcDonalds , say devs are cooking something grand, such as the Monte Cassino battle in a possible Italian theater…
Then I hope map preferences system would become a bit stricter, because there’s probably no other theatre I’d be more interested than it, in a long while…
Wishful thinking of course, but that theatre and location would be “dreamy”.
Well it means what it says - that we are looking into exploring other nations for unique squads, similar to how we’ve been doing it already, but as actual new nations as part of these squads. It would be Canadian soldiers in this case (as an example), like the nation itself, not just the guns (though they would likely get unique guns for the nation anyway). It means the floodgates are open basically to be considering adding more unique soldiers/nations in the forms of squads if appropriate, just not confirming any nations by name yet, Canada is just one of them we chose to include here as an example.
So when you mention the BR’s, do you also mean br4 will be separated from br5 finally?
Functional FG42 bipods and bayonets when?
this is not what we really want and you know what we want. No more uptier, or at the very least, separate BR5 on its own. It has been requested a million times.
Wonder why the change was made in the first place. Still, flamethrowers were extremely cancerous on certain maps.
