Overview
Before the merge, we were promised that custom matches will have the ability to choose allowed weapon and or vehicle but it seems this promise is largely forgotten. I’m not saying to go to back to Campaign era (even when campaign era is largely historically inaccurate as well, the merge just opened the flood gate) but at least gives us this functionality for custom matches. Maybe one day there will be simulator mode for normal mode where you can only bring historical equipment and some limitation to OP equipment (limited PPSh-41 for USSR in Moscow or limited spawn for King Tigers in Berlin).

but truth be told, it’s not a priority.
and as a modder my self, not to be a downer, but not many plays mods because mods them selves are heavily limited.
modders such as us struggle to make good mods because of the endless “wrestling” with issues and the many limitations. starting with the inability to change simple settings or limitations that requires years to understand and test for something remotely different and fun, up to entire technical limitations with shit that wont load once online.
ranging between features that we asked for years and have never been delivered.
all we ever get, is from April fools or halloween events. thigns that we may use, but ultimately, specificially designed for certain mods.
and worse, have fun pouring hours on days or months on end, just for the whole thing to either not work at all, or will be broken by the next update and you don’t know who to thank for.
bug reports and suggestions gets ignored,
so modding is the way that it is because of neglicence and truth be told, perhaps a little bit too far gone for fixing.

If you think about it, the developers didn’t even need to develop anything. Everything was already on a one test server. Maps were selected based on the player’s gear and the campaign. Simply remove all the prototypes and future guns, remove or change the class of automatic rifles for balance purposes, and that’s it!
