As you may see from my profile picture, I’m a veteran and old enthusiastic of the now dead Heroes and Generals, and for those who don’t know what does the title mean, I suggest a new and more simpler way of levelling the equipment for every faction in the game without the need of grinding squads.
In that game, it had a “similar” progression tree where you’d to get exp from battles depending on what weapons you’d used.
What it would be really useful to have here is a similar system where instead of levelling up squads and managing level points so slowly (specially for the specialists like radios, engies, etc.) but that each weapon and vehicle has it’s own progression bar of exp, that levels up with the exp gained with that weapon in battle, the next ways of gaining exp could be:
From the smallest amounts to the greatest:
-Just shooting the weapon, gives you the smallest amount.
-Hitting an enemy target and damaging it (only humanoid targets and no vehicles) gives a little more of exp.
-Hitting and killing an enemy with the weapon in any part of his body (except head) gives a good amount of exp
-Hitting and killing an enemy with the weapon by a headshot; gives the greatest amount of exp of them all.
And to make it more interesting, your bots in your squad that has a weapon can gave you exp for your bar, but it would be much lower than when you use it.
As for some the heavy weaponry, it would be simpler and straight forward while skipping some of the previous points, that being the flamethrowes don’t deal headshoots.
And the AT weaponry would not only level up by damaging soldiers, but also vehicles, that could scalate even more depending on the type, if its a recon type, light, medium, heavy, etc.
As for the vehicle progression bar, the same logic with the AT weaponry could be applied too, as you can kill soldiers with your weapons like in foot, but also damage and destroy other planes and tanks.
All of this with the objective to simplify the grind and make it more focused as intended with the progression tree, that’s what I believe it could help many people that start the game or like me have played until the update and want to avoid that pointless grind for only 1 weapon.
