Bad day for everyone using Academy, from latest big update that came out today you will no longer get back the first soldier you put in training out of 3 total, now it actually is random who will be back.
Why did I call it a “silent fix”, because there was no mention about it in patch notes. I only realized it after using my Star 1 “Tanker II” paired with 2 Star 1 “Sniper III” soldiers that I got in the end Star 2 “Sniper III” back, never happend before.
Well, I was hoping that the way it worked until now was actually intended by devs, it really lessen grind and randomness while training soldiers for higher star levels.
I know there are “Train order” cards (that were useless untill now) you get from Battle Pass, but from first BP (premium) I only got 9 total with RNG involved. That is way too few to train your whole army with soldiers of your choice, this is why I really liked how it worked before, was able to finish my US side with all Star 4 units.
Once you grind to 5 star. And play enough with such player you I’ll have enough retraining orders to equip the soldiers with the perks you want.
This silent fix as you state, I’ll only force you to careful choose your perks first with all the rng involved, once at level 5. Retrain them as you wish.
The problem is rather that before that “fix” we were able to use one soldier of the desired class as the first one and two other “fillers” from other classes.
For example you want to have new high level gunner, so instead of wasting 3 gunners you could use 1 gunner and two tankers (those level up very fast, so were perfect as fillers). And the gunner was always back.
You could also level up your favourite soldiers with some funny names for example without worrying that they will not return.
For now all of that will be done only with those BP orders.
Well this is bullshit. Before I was able to sacrifice classes I din’t like playing as in order to train up ones that I did, in order to build MY proper army.
Before there was no risk involved and the first one was always back. Now you will have to pray to the Great Snail to get that one you want (or of course use the BP order, but those are limited).
Well. Joke’s on me, as I didn’t even know that… I always used the same class to be sure, as I was certain it was a random soldier (amongst the 3) that came out… Well… At least this fix will have no impact for me…
Was it a bug? I read about this on reddit but every time I tried it I always just got a random guy back. So it never worked for me. You have to pay gold or use a battlepass order to select which trooper you want back. Maybe the fact that it worked for some people was a bug.
I adapted by always using same class and never bothering who will come up until i get to the 4/5 star guys.
As I said, now it’s an equal playing field for all.
I honestly didn’t think it was a bug, just figured they made you be extra careful which solider you wanted upgraded and gave you the option to choose if you messed up. It made sense that the first soldier you picked was the one that would come back.
