Shout to move bots out of the way

Problem:
Often when building, either a bot is standing where I want to build or walks into a structure I’m currently building and prevents me from completing the construction. Sometimes it’s a teammate’s bot so I can’t command them to move and they will perpetually be in the way.

Solution:
Add additional functionality to the “Shout” command which when pressed will also tell any bots directly in front of you to move to a slightly different position nearby.

Bots just often get in the way (especially in doorways) and this tiny command would be very useful for us engineer heavy players.

I always want to shout “get the hell out of the way” when I want to build barb wire around our bomb but my teammates have parked their AI there.

“Well I got one with my VAN going 55 Miles Per Hour with the headlights on and the Horn Blowin’. There’s an elusive beast. If you miss the deer it’s because your bullet’s going too fast. Just slow it down to 55, put headlights and a little horn on it, the deer will actually jump in front of it.” - Ron White

good idea!

now i have a funny immage in my mind of the soldier shouting something in german and the bots scatter away like there’s a bomb in the room.

but beside that, yeah sure.

you can slowly push em out of the way with your own body, kinda full bus style, discretely pushing into their personal space. extremely unpractical, but you end up learning to live with it.

the yell to scatter would be very, very toxically exploited, im afraid. i can already picture the funniest among us using that mechanic. remember those funny guys build rallies and surround them with barbed wire, just for the lols.

“funniest”

I’ve thought about that but to avoid this, I’d have the command be very limited in how much they move. For example, to make it work you could look at the ground and shout (similar to pressing X to mark a spot for your squat to hold a position) and any bot within say a 3 meter radius of that spot just moves out of that zone. This makes it less of “Moses parting the red sea” ability and more of “hey I need a little space.”

You could also only limit the functionality to engineers with their hammer out or to players in a fixed weapon (LMG nest) or with their weapon mounted just to reduce any chance of toxicity.
