I think its fine as is, especially because you are limited to 1 per character.
IF they added a way to have more per character, then perhaps I would agree to adding an animation.
Right now, as far as balancing is concerned, they still are far less effective than grenades. So I don’t think making them even more troublesome to use is a good idea.
I’d like that. Even a mere 3 seconds long animation, where your character crouch and simply place it carefully on the ground, WHITOUT WALKING OR SPRINTING would make mines much more realistic and no less useful.
Right now ppl use them while swarming enemy caps, while running around and shooting, simply dropping it behind them hoping it will get their pursuers… which is ridiculous.
It’s a bomb… you don’t just drop that on the ground without care and call it a day

Tbf the German S-Mine IRL is lot more deadlier than blowing right where you step it, after trigger the S-Mine, it send the charge upward 1 feet in mid air, explode and send 360 metal balls in all direction, which increase its effective blast radius and maximize Anti-Infantry capability
I’m really surprised that they left out the pin removal for the flag grenade.
