Shorts bombing - ideas about our short guides?

Hi! We’ve started doing tutorial videos on the official channel for some time now, but there are topics for which one minute is enough. Well, that’s our cool shorts:

Should we keep doing this?

Yes pls do.

I don’t see why not, as long as it doesn’t increase the amount of time between dev news much. It’s good to get more Enlisted stuff on youtube.

No

Perfect, then these could be useful for new players

More aid for new players is always welcome. Even more if its easy to produce and maybe attracts new players.
Shorts are a great way to explain features like for example zeroing AT that dont need a full episode of combat notes but are somewhat easy to miss otherwise.

No, it’s a waste of time devs should focus on major

and some guy (most likely not even a dev) doing some helpful shorts will slow down the devteam? Its not even confirmed how close we are to the next major. (just guesswork so far) And judging by the current BR spreadsheet (not even all unlocks nor event weapons and premiums) they still got a lot to do.

The short is very cool  But i think it can get better if you do fun videos like the WarThunder shorts

  1. Yes, they can be insightful in the case of things that only take that long to explain.

  2. Instead of only adding them to youtube and with links through the forum, you should also add a “tips” library into the game itself which holds them. While I know that most PC players don’t find this useful, I can assure you that the console players especially will be very thankful for this.
After all, things that can be viewed directly within the game and don’t require a redirect to find will be viewed much more often, and can also be used for reference much eastier.

  3. PLEASE make sure that the intricate topics get the time they deserve. Especially on things like engineering, which is quite underutilized due both to game mechanics that could use revision, but also due to players often not having an understanding of good placement, which a GOOD tutorial could greatly help.

Also, can you make a YouTube short on marking, and try the War Thunder approach on making funny meme shorts too.

I realized that the game becomes painful because both senior and new players are lack of proper guidance. And I even don’t think the devs should write the guidance because they may be the most experienced ones.

If you ask my opinions on what to tell all players, I wanna say:
Tell people to build rally, mark enemy and cap points.
Tell them to build rally in proper place, not the attic or block it with sandbags.
Tell them do not spam AP mines, do not build unnecessary barbed wires and sandbags. The only thing you can trust is the weapon on your hand.
Tell them that to win the game, do not hide behind to call artillary or snipe or mortar or on the fighter all the time. We need you in the forontier right now.
Tell them how the vehicle and aircrafts work, I just can’t stand some riding Hawker Hurricane or Spitfire and attack the infantry with 7.7mm machine guns. It doesn’t work at all. Similarly, M8 rockets and RBS-82 are good for anti-tank, not for infantry. And do not expose side of your tank toward enemy tanks.
Tell them if you play your best, the result can be totally different.
And tell them game is just a game, no history no race no politics in game chatting and discussion.

If you really wanna improve the guidance, you can refer to my columns (you can translate to Eng or Rus easily with translators.) I believe a half of player have no idea about why we win/lose, so they will not make better contribution to the battle.

1. Intro of Engineer and the rally point
2. Intro of rifleman and the perks
3. Intro of assault soilder and their weapons
4. Intro of flamethrower soilder
5. Intro of snipers and how to play it effectively
