I would append his suggestion by having the cooldown to call the bombing run increased for each bomber shot down in the formation.
As it stands right now, the only reason to attempt to intercept the bombers (in an airplane) is to get the experience…attacking the formation doesn’t cancel the bombing run and knocking one of the planes down doesn’t cancel the bombing run. Either of which should (IMO) at least divert or cause a reaction in the formation’s flight path.
I think the current cooldown is 4 minutes…so maybe each bomber shot down is an extra 1 minute to the timer. All 5 bombers shot down would be a cooldown of 9 minutes. After the cooldown, all 5 bombers are back in play again.
I don’t feel that this is excessive, but there should be some reward for attempting to stop the bombing run and that should be something for the team in addition to the XP gained for the player(s).
I understand that there might be multiple radio squads, and I don’t know how this would be handled off the top of my head.
I do know that In the press release it mentioned
but so far neither of these has any noticeable effect on the bombing run…I’m not alone in being stubborn enough to try and knock down the bombers regardless of what is done with them, but I think a team-based incentive should be added to make it worthwhile to try and stop them.
