Sd. Kfz. 251/9 First Model 1942 Variant

We received the Sd. Kfz. 251/9 Stummel as an event vehicle a few months ago. This was the 1944 variant which had the addition of a coaxial MG42, better traversal and gun compression, and more ammo capacity

The original model was made in 1942 and for all intents and purposes (I mean it was the first version after all) had worse traversal, gun compression, and less ammo capacity.

I think the original model should be added to the game. It could be added into the research tree

Now, I am the kind of the person who likes some shreds of historical immersion. For me it doesn’t have to be perfect or 201% historically accurate or X gun was not at Y battle. I never had a problem with prototypes. It’s a game and I have fun. My standards are very simple, it’s fine as long it makes sense chronologically. I don’t care about having some prototype 1945 Assault rifle, I just don’t want to use it in 1944 Normandy

Personally when I play I follow my historical guideline for my loadouts and what maps I play on. For example, if I have a Puma and the map is Moscow I leave, Puma was made in 1943, Moscow is 1941. Or if I have a Panther G (1944) and the map is Stalingrad (1942). I like a little immersion, that’s just me. You can see where I’m going with this

There is no reason NOT to have the original model 251/9 in this game. Variants are a huge part of this game’s content. There are so many different variants and models of guns, vehicles, and planes in game and they will continue to be added.

Yet it didn’t came with its Heat ammo, lol.

if added to the research tree what should be added to the allies? the soviets? the japanese?

lmao.

I mean I’m not one thinks every faction needs a 1:1 counter for everything. Note that I don’t mean that such vehicles shouldn’t be added, I mean that if there were no such vehicle equivalent for X faction that shouldn’t mean that Y faction shouldn’t receive whatever item. For example Japan only had like 2 armed APCs and they only had MGs, but that doesn’t mean Americans shouldn’t get a more heavily armed APC like half tracks with AT guns. More toys for the sandbox the merrier

Anyway, America did have halftracks armed with heavy armaments as well as supplying some to the Soviets so theoretically they could be added as well
