First arty strike you unlock in your radioman tree is the current attack we have now (mortar barrage). You can unlock the speed adjustment and continue to spam it like always.
Next arty you unlock is divisional artillery (towed guns) and you get one attack every 5 minutes and its much longer and bigger radius (red circle) than the current mortar attack. you cannot unlock a speed adjustment in the tree
And the final artillery you can unlock in the tree is big guns. Which you can only deploy once in a game. Its much shorter in duration than the field gun barrage (3-5 shells), And the radius of attack is about the same. but the explosions are much bigger , and nobody inside buildings can survive them. Only people in trenches or below ground can survive .
les tirs d’artillerie sont déja bien débile et tout le monde s’en plaint. il y en a beaucoup trop et toi tu en veux plus … dans ces cas la on limite à un seul radioman par partie. en ce moment le jeu devient barrage d artillerie en boucle c’est vraiment gonflant.
The artillery in the game is of very, very small calibre. A 120mm mortar or 155mm howitzer shell would definitely kill everything within a radius of 50m. I know it for sure, because I served in the artillery.
But the so called “time on target” is a joke, as well as the radio commands. The forward observer first has to name the target, telling the coordinates or the target point, if there is any. Then the fire direction specialists or battery officer has to calculate the fire comand and tell it to the gunners. They have to prepare the ammo and sight in the guns. And after firing, the shells need a while until impact, depending on the range of the battery to the target and the muzzle velocity of the guns.
I think, about 30 sec should be a good time. In reallity, it could take much longer, depending on a lot of circumstances.
