This is what we have in game rn:
This how it looks irl:

And this how I think it should be:

You could say this about most rear sights in the game. Garand and M1 Carbine for example also have a much smaller rear sight.
Sten is the most awful, others are playable at least
My position. Game should be comfortable at the first place and realistic at the second. But when sight ring covers half of my screen it is neither realistic nor comfortable.
Of all the ghost ring sights, or peep sights…I actually Like the stens the most…Can still see everything going on.
from all those screens id say the current one is best for that exact reason
dont exactly see the problem here ? The visibility is more than enough to keep up with moving target
unlike with this for example
But if ppl considers the current one as issue I dont really care even if it got replaced with regular notched sight.
Either way fun & usability > realism
было бы прекольно добавить вариант держания за магазин как альтернативный хват при стрельбе от бедра, выглядело бы эпично.
I think the M50 Reising would disagree: you can practically stick your arm through it’s rear sight
The rear sight was made like it was so it has better sight picture, which in games is rather necessary.
A fully upgraded Sten in the hands of a character with horizontal recoil skill is absolutely amazing. Not to be underestimated. It covers mid range fairly well.
Considering its so early game, its super cheap to fully upgrade.
vise versa, m1s succ
Spot 4 enemies who are about to kill you on this picture:
Off topic but I know I’m not the only one that recognizes this screenshot from the Arctic mission in Black Ops 1
well considering your aiming wall rather than any of those so called 4 enemies you kinda deserved to die anyway.
Also protip, dont use the sights before your about to shoot someone works about 99.99% of time.
Player bots don’t die if you kill player so your protip is useless
that makes so much sense that now on I shall not move without aiming constantly.
It’s not really possible for games to simulate how aperture sights look through our two eyeballs. IRL with peep sights the giant ring blurs and fades out as you focus on the front sight or the target, it’s not possible to do that except in VR where you actually have two cameras, one for each eye and even then they still often use larger ring apertures since the cameras you are viewing the game through can’t focus like your eyes can. Unless someone develops some new tech to simulate what having two eyeballs is like on a flat monitor you’ll probably keep seeing big rear apertures in every game for a while.
Hehe not to be pedantic, but youre not supposed to focus on the front sight, but on the target.
I always found peep sights a little wierd to use because it was very easy to over think. Found myself trying to concentrate on the front sight which actually ruined my aim…once i got used to looking past the sights it was on the money.
