The Helldiver was one of the most produced naval dive bombers of the war, and would be a good aircraft to fill the gap in the American air tree at BR3. Currently the only BR3 attacker the U.S. gets is the Xa-38, leaving nothing in the tech tree for people who don’t have the Grizzly.
In terms of flight performance, the Helldiver is quite comparable to the Dauntless. The Helldiver climbs worse, but is faster and turns better. The Helldiver’s armaments look like:
2 x 20mm AN/M2 cannons with 400 rounds as its frontal armament.
2 x 7.62mm Browning MGs with 2,000 rounds in a defensive rear gunner.
I believe that a suspended armament of 2 x 500lbs bombs and 2 x 250lbs bombs would be well suited for BR3 given the aircraft’s other attributes and taking into consideration the bombload of the BR2 American attack aircraft. But if y’all think there’s a better outfit of ordinance then say so.
