I am currently working on unlocking all of the upgrades for the SB-2M in the Moscow campaign. As I do so I have come up with some ideas for this powerful aircraft.
First, as a balance idea, remove the 100kg bombs and give it a max load of 50kg bombs. This would give a lot of drops, which would be a hallmark of the aircraft, whilst making accuracy more important. HOWEVER, only do this if you get rid of the 250KG and 100KG bombs for the German aircraft. I would like it to remain fair.
Second, it needs it’s defensive gunners soonest. I know it is hard to shoot down, but it is not a fun experience to get shot down by your equivalent aircraft in the German Tree the Stuka R2 without being able to do anything about it.
Third, allow the additional crew slots to actually ride in the plane as copilots and bombadiers, or even the gunners. This would allow for some interesting perks such as Turret accuracy, turret reload time, and the changing seat perk to mean something. Of course you would have to allow crew to replace injured crew in cruicial positions such as pilot and gunners.
Fourth, the cockpit is a mess. I run really high settings and get about 50 FPS and the dials are unreadable and the cockpit looks like it is straight outta the 2000’s with a low poly count and pathetic textures. It’s frankly, pathetic. The fidelity and immersive quality of this game is great, until you are in a plane. The planes look like crap.
Fifth, when you take damage a list of faults would be nice. Whether displayed in the cockpit or as part of the UI. The damage model display is nice, but I had an engine that was overheating and the only way to tell my radiator was damaged was the fact that I was slowly losing RPM’s on my non-damaged engine.
Finally, I just want to say I am enjoying this plane, this is a fun part of the game. I would just like it to feel less, BETA and more FINISHED PRODUCT.
