Saboteurs For All Faction's Research Tree

I do not like any classes, features, or mechanics being soft-locked and gated. I think it is wrong. We all know that Paratrooper squads are only premium and event. Yet again they have made the latest new class the Saboteur just an event prize.

Classes, features, and mechanics should not be soft-locked. It is unfair to new players and it’s bad for the spirit of the game where everyone should be able to experience and use these classes. It continues a bad precedent of new classes being gated

Put Saboteurs in all faction’s Research Tree

I don’t want players encouraged to stack this unit. Just like spy in tf2 this seems like a case of the more there are the weaker they are.

Well then I would say why would the devs bother adding a controversial class in the first place

Even then I feel for better or for worse for integrity it should be available.

It’s also sort of a self-corrrcting issue. Since Saboteur is just one and done they will realize it has a very specific playstyle, and its extremely vulnerable. Only dedicated players will use this class a lot while most players will probably use it for a bit then go back to Assaulters or whatever

U say that whenever players use snipers at all br.

This class goes against the game’s fundamental design. It’s designed solely for troll gameplay and hunting rally points— something that guerrillas can already do just fine.

I don’t know why this class should be in TT. On the contrary, I hope it fades into obscurity. It hasn’t brought anything positive to the game.

I understand your disdain, but I feel for better or for worse it should.

It once again sets a bad precedent like Paratroopers. What if more future classes get locked like Grenadiers or Marines or Glider Infantry

I hope we won’t get more classes. That’s not what this game needs. Majority of players still has access to only 3 infantry slots.

Back then, it was planned for existing classes to have some kind of veteran subclass with some added gimmicks.
I would much rather prefer something like that.

I wouldn’t even consider saboteurs as some kind of new proper class. It’s just one time event gimmick, just like fuel bomb planes were.

They will not be game changers in any meaningful way. So I really don’t see need to have them in TT.

If you want future new players to have access to this “class”, it would be better to create a account milestone, and once you reach that milestone, the game would reward you with a Saboteur squad.

I disagree but there aren’t many new classes they could do anyway. I think there are only a few more they could do then we’ve scratched off pretty much everything

In my opinion

  • Grenadier, gets all grenade launchers
  • Marine, like Paratrooper but for amphibious maps (yeah it won’t be able to do this on most maps but I think marines should be represented)
  • Glider Infantry, like APC but for the sky
  • Mountain Infantry, not likely but I just think it would be cool to represent these units
  • Cavalry, not very likely but idk
(They’re basically in order of how likely I think they are to be added)

The game certainly needs many, many, many things. But unfortunately it’s little by little…

Friend, this is just a commemorative unit awarded as a reward for an April Fool’s Day event, not a historical research unit for the tech tree, so don’t be unreasonable. This is unrealistic and impossible.

I disagree. While the addition of spies in a frontline war game is a little silly as well as all the controversy it caused, Saboteurs are a new addition to the family so for better or worse they should be treated as such

Your disagreement is one thing, the official conclusion is another. Besides, the spy sabotage team is an event reward team redeemed with blue cards; it can’t possibly become part of the weapon research tech tree. Moreover, the spy sabotage team has a very low combat score. So, this unit is good for gimmicks, but not for actual combat.

This class is hot dog shit, so I really don’t see any point.

considering that this class does not have the “friendly marker” when disguised to enemy players, is rather quite literally, useless in pvp.

because everyone shoots anyone who doesn’t have a marker over their head.

i still like the possibilities in pve though.
( which effectively is a class extreamely of niche to begin with. let alone, primarily for custom games or mods. )

like with snipers when you run this class your not being very helpful

well, that’s more of a subjective opinion.

usefulness as contribution does not come from what tool one has.
but it’s how are being used.

beside, having fun is what matters the most anyway.
most don’t really care about being useful and contributing in the first place.

the main issue which in of it self, the class is not bad as people make it out to be in paper.
but the fact that you are only disguised to bots will not shield you from actual players kinda kills it even for those few that wants to use it.

making it not very fun or effective when it come with the whole " stick " of what the class is supposed to do.

but we’re getting beside the point.
locking actual class behind fomo is never a good thing.

especially when there’s an entire updated dedicated to this supposed new feature.
the suggestion tackles more that aspect, rather than the class it self.

I mean a class can be both useless and fun I said it was dog shit and not very help never said it wasn’t fun to play because it is its just not very helpful.

Please, please go play a custom game or other game
This is a TEAM game, not a solo game.

We disagree. This class is awful in every way. It’s a class no one asked for and that the game didn’t need. I don’t know why the devs even thought of adding it.

Making it an event-exclusive seems like the best thing to do, and I hope it stays that way permanently.

I think this profession could be included as a reward within an achievement. For example, reaching the rank of 3 Generals, or killing 10,000 soldiers. This would at least allow experienced players who have a certain understanding of the game content to obtain this profession and make it effective.

Exactly. Whether people like the class or not, a class should be available for all in the RT as all classes should

They still haven’t added RT Paratroopers! If it doesn’t stop they’ll keep doing it to future classes, like I’ve thought of Marine classes! There’s nothing wrong with having special squads with unique weapons, but an entire class should not be locked away

It doesn’t matter if I have every single premium and event squad anyway, I don’t think it’s right to lock classes or mechanics
