Riflemen I (basic class) should be available for bronze

So, as we all know, the new soldiers recruitment/upgrade system is way better when it comes to upgrading troops, but at the same time it basically killed new players’ chances to get new soldiers.

Although Elite Battle Pass (currently the main source of silver orders) is reasonably cheap and provides a great amount of value up to paying itself back and more, thus being almost a no brainer for players who stick around, it shouldn’t be de facto MANDATORY in order to upgrade squads.

The amount of free silver earned by achievements is very limited, and surely not enough to upgrade squads in more than one campaign.

It is also worth pointing out that even a player who buys an expensive premium squad or bundle, despite spending a fair amount of money, would eventually still find himself unable to buy new soldiers (and soon weapons?) UNLESS he also buys Elite BP.

My suggestion here, in order to improve new players’ experience, is to let Rifleman I class (the most basic one) still be available for purchase with bronze. This way:

  • Free players are guaranteed to, at least, be able to fill up their squads with manpower as they level them up (since we are currently forced to waste perfectly serviceable troops by leaving them in unused squads);
  • They can save their scarce silver orders for specialists, or higher level riflemen, at their own discretion.

or even better yet they should allow us to empty inactive squads. iv always thought it was a pain in the ass to have 3/4ths my reserve taken up by lvl 1 infantry…

Anything but do something. I started playing just a few days prior that update and It’s been 3 weeks since they crippled my progress and still haven’t addressed it. I have elite BP, completed most of the achievements but still I feel constant lack of SO simply because it is not tied to playing but fixed daily (achievements are only one time) so more you play more you need but that works only for bronze. Silver is capped heavily by time. I unlocked more troopers in squad but had to use them half empty since I didn’t want to buy ton of rifleman I just to replace them couple days later with specialists. It really impacts economy too much. Also there is slight chance of silver in daily bonuses but so far within 3 weeks I got boosters or bronze, maybe silver weapon a few times.

Seems reasonable to me.

Yup. They’re dragging their feet again about selling reserve soldiers for bronze, and purchasing new soldiers.

Honestly, the way to operate with a bad update is to rollback the bad changes and merge the good changes, at least until a fix releases for the bad changes.

Yeah, not to mention that these rank 1 troopers are the only way how to get Italian or British troopers in Tunisia atm…

Actually no. Stock troopers in Italian and British squads are Italians/British, but I’m almost sure that newly purchased Riflemen I are German or American by default.

That is… what I´m saying. Only rank I troopers from squad you unlock are UK/Italy troops.
Silver order troopers are indeed only US or German.

I wanted to make my own topic but this one outlines basically what I wanted to say. Bronzes are in surplus supply, silvers are really rare if you didn’t buy the BP and even then they can still run out if the player just buys a bunch of soldiers. Players shouldn’t have to invest in the BP to get by, but this IS a gaijin game so I’m not surprised that monetization is dotted everywhere you go and lingers behind every bad choice. Although I’m on board of using bronzes to get basic rifleman, I’m not going to just let the economy slide and accept that it’s broken for newer players that don’t have campaigns already done and squads already filled out. There needs to be another way to get silvers, both soldier and weapon.

I propose a few ways; one of them being getting them like you would with bronzes, but with an obvious point increase (people can chime in with some good scores, I omit mine since I’ve been away for awhile). Another way would be to be able to trade the surplus of bronzes in for silvers, I dunno, 10~15 sounds reasonable?

They probably expect this change to push the highest possible number of otherwise free players to take the most cost-effective step and buy Elite BP.

But they also want to test their theory before going all in, hence why the new system hasn’t been extended to weapons yet.

If Almighty Statistics™ will prove them right, they’ll stick to the current route, otherwise they’ll surely be forced to loosen the ties.
