The squad identity itself would be of the wrong nationality though. 
kinda doesn’t mean a whole lot in all honesty.
like, a squad icon it’s in the menu.
but seeing a british soldier dressed up as an american while flying a british airplane is probably worse.
even though seeing pilots is rare.
but the same applies with the british shermans.
or the fiat pilot.
I’m not denying that one thing is more severe than the other, but that doesn’t make the other thing not a problem anymore.
I CAN read, I know that the division name is wrong, or doesn’t match the standard patterns of the country I’m trying to represent (especially with aicraft formations I KNOW when it’s a US or Commonwealth squad just by the name). Call it “the curse of knowledge” if you want, but it will seriously mess with me (and I suspect others) if this isn’t addressed properly.
If “it’s just text and symbols” it shouldn’t be that hard to actually address?

welcome to the world of half assed solutions.
to problems that they made in the first place.
with that being said,
allow to wear other subfaction cosmetics indipendently would allow people to get the squads that they always wanted.
without then need for a faction.
only issue though, mixed dressed up soldiers with american helmets and british tunics or vice versa.
but, what can you do.

yes. allow all vehicles in all squads.
but they didn’t do that either.
I’d rather keep asking them to do better, and keep getting dissapointed, than just lying down and actually taking it.

Some of my friends equips US flask and axes to commonwealth squads, I fell sometimes uncomfortable about this, your word really got my point.
