Rework the Silver Lootbox System (Faction-Specific & Category Rotations to increase engagement and revenue)

Currently, the Seasonal Silver Lootbox contains all factions’ weapons, squads, and cosmetics mixed together. This makes targeting a specific legacy event weapon (such as the St. Etienne Sawed-off or Yazikov SMG) near impossible, which discourages newer or returning players from even trying.

I would like to propose a new, healthier rotation system inspired by successful gacha mechanics:

1. Faction-Specific Seasonal Rotations (4 times a year)
Instead of one giant pool, split the lootboxes into faction-focused pools (e.g., USSR-focused, USA-focused, Axis-focused) that rotate with major seasonal updates. This gives players a clear goal to save and spend their Silver.

2. Anniversary “All-In” Mega Lootbox (1 time a year)
During the game’s anniversary, introduce a special lootbox containing all legacy items, but with a 2x drop rate for unique weapons and vehicles.

Why this benefits everyone:

  • For Players: It creates a healthy gameplay loop. Players can save Silver with anticipation for their favorite faction’s season, significantly boosting player retention.
  • For Developers (Revenue): When a desired faction box arrives, the “I can actually complete this collection!” mentality will strongly incentivize players to purchase Gold to convert to Silver, buy Battle Passes, or subscribe to Premium accounts for faster Silver grinding.

The current system feels like a lost cause for many players. Implementing a structured rotation like this would create immense hype and financial success.

What do you mean by that? Like when a new update drops, the sliver boxs will be available to every faction but will have rewards specifically for that faction. For example, a german/Italy sliver box for the germans and Italians?

The amount of in game content between the four factions is not even.
Axis gamba box would be by far the most popular and purchased while Japanese would be picked more rarely.

its on purpose btw… “You have a chance to get it” but in reality its so slim that players have FOMO on event rewards.

Yes, exactly. For example, during a major spring update, the lootbox would be themed as “Axis (Germany/Italy) Special Box”. For that entire season, players can buy this specific box using Silver, and it will only drop items for that faction. In the next season, it rotates to the USSR or USA box.

I feel like a guarantee after a specific amount of pull would be the biggest W for the box tbh. I know since im a gacha player.

Having a guarantee mean people will pull for it.

To balance the faction content gap (like Japan), that’s why I suggested grouping them as a broader “Axis-focused” box rather than a standalone Japan box. This ensures Japan items can be bundled with popular German gear, making the box still highly attractive.
Regarding FOMO, you are absolutely right. However, my rotation system actually makes FOMO even more effective for the developers. With the current giant pool, the chance of getting a specific item is so low that players feel “learned helplessness” and stop spending Silver/Gold altogether. By using seasonal faction rotations, the FOMO becomes time-limited and intense. For example, when the “USA Box” arrives, players know they only have 2 months to get the M2 Stinger before it vanishes for the rest of the year. This creates a much stronger, healthier urgency (“I must grind/buy Gold now!”) compared to the current endless, frustrating lottery.

Then no, while I do believe that the rewards should be rework, I don’t see how limiting one faction to have the sliver box would fix it. If you meant to separate the rewards and put them into their own national sliver box. Like when the update drops then there would be sliver boxs for the Soviets would have Soviets guns, Germany/Italy would get in their box their guns, and so forth.

I’d much rather see a box that is more expensive but has a guaranteed drop for an event squad. 250k+ for a guaranteed event squad seems fair. The loot boxes are an end game feature after all.

Here’s how to solve this using a standard gacha structure (such as the “Standard” and “Recommended” banner system):

  1. Standard Loot Box (Per Major Update): The current all-in-one mixed loot box is available to everyone at standard drop rates.
  2. Faction-Specific “Recommended” Rotation (Season): With each major update, one specific faction will receive a special “Recommended Faction Box” in addition to the standard box. During that season, players who only play one faction (such as players who mainly play only Germany) can target exactly what they want at the best drop rates for that particular country. This gives a great reason to spend silver immediately rather than wait.
  3. Anniversary Event (Grand Finale/All-in-One Special): During anniversaries, a special “Anniversary All-in-One Box” is available. It contains legacy items from all factions and has a unique item drop rate that is twice as high (this number is variable) compared to the standard box. However, because it’s a mixed pool, players who only want a specific faction will find the Season Faction Box (Step 2) more efficient. This system satisfies players who “mainly belong to one faction” by providing a dedicated period for efficiently using silver, keeping the gameplay loop active throughout the year, and making anniversaries a major, exciting event for everyone.

I actually tried to include a poll when I created this topic. However, the forum system kept giving me an error message saying “unable to post with a poll attached,” so I had no choice but to post it without one.
