TLTR : Make rally point builder earn a small percentage ( 5-10 % ? ) of the score/experience produced by the players spawning from them. Reward the player building rally points according to how useful they are
There are many suggestion about the rally points, spawn protection ( to be removed ), distance to the objective ( to be increased ), general balancing… and the lack of reward for the rally point builder, yet i haven’t seen similar suggestion
Since building a rally point and allowing much easier flanking maneuver and/or cutting down the distance to reach the objective is one of the MAIN KEYS to VICTORY, the player who built it should be rewarded.
However, rewarding rally point building with a flat score reward is unfair : either it is high and every player make useles rally point to farm the reward, or it is so low that it doesn’t matter.
Rewarding according to the distance from the objective is also wrong, a rally point built very close but which force the spawned player to travel in the open to the objective is worse than one built a little farther but which offer a safer path to travel to the objective.
Rewarding according to how many player spawn from it is a flat reward in a long game, doesn’t take into account how useful that rally point was to victory / to make the battle a fierce one.
The suggestion : the player who built a rally point earns a little percentage ( 5-10% ) of the score/experience made by the player who spawned from it : this is a good way to reward the rally point builder according to how useful that rally point was.
Indeed, experienced player will prefer to spawn on the better rally point, and whatever score they will produce will be in part due to the position of that rally point.
A rally point build 20 m forward of the standart spawn ? sure it will earn a little since everyone who die very quickly will want to spawn from it, but it won’t last since better and more impactful rally point will soon be built
One built 40m away from the objective but in the open ? people spawning there won’t make very good score since they will quickly lose most of their squad member / won’t even reach the objective at all, ie the rally point will not make victory much easier
One built 60m away but offer protected fire position / a safer path to the objective ? people who spawn from there will produce high score, by staying alive longer / killing more ennemies / reaching the objective and actually make victory more likely, and as a result the builder is rewarded in consequence.
