Rewarding engineer for good support

At the end of every game there are commendations for the best performing player for every class, or at least most of them.

In my experience engineers are instrumental for seizing and assaulting or defending any objective regardless of game mode: well placed beacons ensure players can get to objectives fast, while fortifications and gun emplacements can turn just about anything into a fortress. The problem is a dedicated engineer can spend so much time supporting others that they don’t really get a lot of kills and end up low on the scoreboard.

While I get that its hard to track what sandbag saved who or what obstacle stopped what, and I get that simply building stuff cant justify rewards for the sake of it, I would like to see the efforts of support roles like the engineer more recognised.

I think a best engineer award based on how many people used your spawn beacon and scoreboard rewards that reflect that (10-20 pts per spawn?) would go a long way to better recognising what engineers contribute every game.

I have no idea but for some reason my US engineers are super high level and get LOADS of XP. I’m thinking is this spawn beacon scoring?

But I agree, even one engineer paying attention turns the tide of the game, even more so if a fortification is made in a critical point. Show us some love!

Oh and

MARK AMMO BOXES ON THE MAP!
