Revert the AP mine nerf

yes lol. They are exactly how they should be. If you notice them in time you can dodge them, if you dont notice them you die. Simple

I refuse to look for them in places, where they shouldn’t be.

“Oh no, I can’t just drop butt plugs everywhere and get free kills anymore”

Don’t expect me to be on constant alert when there should be no danger at all.

What?

Instead of nerfing mine damage, I think it would be better to make mines more visible. German and Japanese mines are fairly easy to spot and disarm. But due to coding bugs, American and German mines can be buried into impassable hard surfaces like concrete floors, making them extremely hard to detect. That is a major problem.

If DF adjusted their visuals so mines cannot sink into hard ground and stay exposed, mine threats would be reduced without having to lower their damage values.

Currently, Soviet mines are basic half‑buried mines, while Japanese mines are large and easy to spot. American and Japanese mines are also half‑buried in most cases, and many are magnetic‑trigger types

That’s not the point of mines.

Not German. You can’t disarm mines in Enlisted.

What I mean is that mines ought to stay visible on hard surfaces. It baffles me how bounding mines can sink ninety percent of their body into concrete flooring inside buildings.

It makes sense to bury mines in soft soil, placing traps should come with reasonable drawbacks. Players can stack three contact mines to create deadly ambush points with zero drawbacks, which breaks game balance entirely.

Mines have been overpowered for a long time. A squad of nine players each carrying one mine can easily score at least seven kills. German and American mines are far sneakier than Soviet and Japanese counterparts. All I ask is that mines cannot embed themselves into rigid surfaces such as concrete and remain exposed visually instead of being hidden underground.

The developers can take inspiration from Battlefield 1. Fit these mines with tripwires to turn them into directional traps that only detonate when enemies cross the wire. This is far more realistic than omnidirectional proximity mines that trigger automatically within a half-meter radius around the mine itself

I’m afraid not just them, save for japanese mines, which are always exposed for some reason.

Soviet and Japanese mines are pretty easy to spot.
Back in older versions, even if you spotted a mine, shooting it from close range would still get you blown up. That design never made sense. It’s ridiculous that you locate a mine yet still take fatal damage for shooting it. Mines used to deal excessive damage; they were never meant to deliver instant kills with such a small charge. Now their damage values have been nerfed too far down.

Developers could slightly boost infantry health so mines only cripple soldiers instead of killing outright. I’m curious about the explosive yield of Soviet and Japanese mines, whether they are designed for one-shot eliminations. Chinese mines rely on steel pellets intended to maim enemies and leave them wounded rather than kill instantly.

When I played Battlefield 6 as an engineer, I could disarm enemy anti-tank mines manually and earn points for doing so. Adding a mine disarm interaction would greatly fix the current mine meta in this game.

For instance, enemies often lay mines on our spawn points. Rebuilding a fresh spawn point is cumbersome, so letting players disarm placed mines would solve this frustration perfectly.

I offer this solution instead.

Japanese mines look rather ridiculous. Their anti-infantry mines can only be half-buried in soil. Visually, they are far bulkier than Soviet mines. Oddly enough, they share identical damage stats in-game. Historically, Japanese mines packed charges comparable to multiple grenades combined, yet this firepower difference is not reflected in performance.

Nerfing anti-personnel mines is a consensus within the whole player community. Most players suffered massive casualties primarily from German and American bounding mines in earlier updates.
When I play as Germany or the US, Soviet and Japanese mines stand out clearly and can be shot from afar, making them poor ambush tools. In contrast, German bounding mines bury nearly the entire body underground with only a tiny tripwire sticking out. It is nearly impossible to spot them amid hectic combat, which makes them extremely frustrating to deal with.

There ought to be trade-offs for powerful mines. If German and American mines are forced to stay fully exposed when placed on concrete and indoor hard surfaces, their original damage values can be reinstated.
Players would then have to conceal these high-damage mines in secluded spots deliberately, or avoid placing them on visible hard terrain entirely.

Furthermore, adding AI mine-clearing mechanics and tripwire directional mines would enrich the gameplay far more.

You submitted this proposal ages ago, yet most players disapproved. They argue that mine damage has already been nerfed, so further adjustments are unnecessary.

In hindsight, we took the wrong approach. It was reasonable to tone down mine lethality in line with historical performance, but the damage reduction went too far. What truly needs revision is how mines clip into terrain and embed themselves deep into all surfaces, which contradicts historical realism.

Soviet and Japanese mines stand out prominently no matter where they are placed. By contrast, German bounding mines are extremely overpowered. Without a dedicated disarm mechanic, players are forced to scout for mines by walking over them recklessly.

It would be ideal to add a hotkey such as V to mark mines with red indicators, similar to placing flags to denote minefields in real-world military operations.

American mines can still be spotted with careful observation, while German mines are nearly invisible unless players lower their graphic settings to the minimum. I have always disliked this mechanic. While the damage nerf is appropriate historically, the excessive concealment of German mines remains problematic. Combat is fast-paced, players focus on engaging enemies rather than scanning the ground meticulously for traps.

We need to restructure the proposal to convince the community: anti-personnel mines were historically designed to incapacitate rather than kill outright, hence the current lowered damage aligns with real-world facts. Mines of all factions should not embed into concrete or hard pavement. Soviet and Japanese mines already remain largely exposed on rigid ground, which is balanced. Priority should be given to limiting how deeply American and German mines can bury themselves. Few players would deny that German and American mines are far too concealed on the battlefield.

It’s 3 days old. Is that ages in Enlisted forum years?

!——Oh——It’s only been three days, I misread the time frame earlier.
I’m confused why so many players oppose restricting how much mines can bury into hard surfaces. Perhaps we ought to elaborate on this issue in detail in our proposal

On the other hand, is it possible to recover and be able to fight after detonation within effective range?

I don’t think this would help. They are quick to judge, quick to anger, slow to understand.

Then do be so kind as to point me to the suggestion specifically discussing that. Not your “no AP mines on non digable surfaces” but one specifically about adjusting the amount they sink into the ground.

Nope. Just nope.
