The armored train mode was an interesting gamemode in the Berlin campaign that hasn’t been available in official servers for well over a year now. It was removed for presumably being too unpopular and niche.
Well, I enjoyed it. Because Enlisted now has the map preference system, people can vote to avoid that gamemode. It should be returned for people like me who enjoyed it.
I would agree, but the map picking system doesn’t work at all, in fact I don’t think it works at all and wqs implement to shut us up about picking maps and campaigns.
have you seen this actually working? from data i got number of conquests, assaults and confrontations increased despite them being least popular game modes.
To be honest, I had never attempted to play the armored train mode, so, I have no baseline to vote. I could have played back then, but like custom matches, I just chose not to play. Custom matches I played my first over 3 1/2 after I started playing enlisted.
Actually, I think the biggest problem with this armored train is that it’s only effective in straight-line movement and takes too much time. Plus, after a certain update, enemy soldiers can no longer use this howitzer. Moreover, the wooden carriages on the railway and the surrounding wires and iron frames are all in an invincible state and cannot be destroyed. So whoever plays this thing will feel frustrated. Also, the target points keep moving and the respawn points are very far away, and these issues haven’t been well addressed. Plus, Df themselves have admitted that they can’t make a train that can turn. The German soldiers can’t respawn on the train either. It’s all very difficult. So in my opinion, it would be better to just scrap it and start over from scratch.
If you’re going to suggest bringing back armored train you’d have to remake the gamemode itself because the original was a huge pain in the ass.
It would’ve been better if it was a low BR Soviet partisan vs Werhmacht event than having 500kg bomb spam and flamethrower spam clean out the train every minute.
