Research

Enlisted is a pretty good WWII video game, however it is a massive money grab. Don’t get me wrong, people should get paid for their efforts making and maintaining games, but this one seems to go above and beyond. I enjoy this game, I will not support a money hungry company however that I see as predatory. What’s this have to do with research? It takes too long to research. Matches can last a long while and at the end you see you barely put a dent into your research. I would cut the required research amount in half, but that is just the opinion of a “free loader”. I would gladly pay $30 for this game if it came as “all included” like in the good ol’ days. However this is just absurd.

Im going to be perfectly honest, of every single one of these F2P titles, the research in enlisted is by far the easiest to do, less than a year of casual play will unlock everything in every tree.

Considering there are 4 factions and you have to unlock each one individually, I find this hard to believe. Even so as a casual who might want to spend an hour here or there to play, this isn’t really a feasible game. I’m outfitting USA right now and I barely made a dent in 20 hours.

I play about one match a day, so less than an hour, each match I earn about 20k RP, before boosters. In other words, about 7,000,000 RP a year, assuming 1 match per day. (this goes up during events ofc too).

Once you factor in the rest of the boosters, especially with quite how many you get from the BP, sign in and etc, you will never be lacking for RP, grinding silver is the only struggle, but thats more because of my gambling habits.

And for the record, these figures should be taken as the very conservative estimate, honestly Ive had more than a couple games where Ive earnt 100k+ RP after boosters.

Funny thing, research has already been reduced by up to 60%, and so have silver prices (for instance a BR I weapon used to cost 500 silver). I’m a F2P player, and I main all factions (the select any faction now gives you a 50% bonus which it didn’t for quite some time). I’ve been playing for about 600 hours (maybe more), or just over year, and I’ve almost started grinding BR IV/V in all factions.

That’s maybe playing 1 - 3 matches a day. Not a whole awful lot, since I get roughly about 1 - 1.5 hours free each day. On holidays and weekends I might do 5 or so matches a day. You just have to try your best placing rallies, taking down tanks, attacking the objective (which all give massive xp boosts).

If this game isn’t for you, that’s ok. But I can sure as hell say War Thunder is worse. And older Enlisted was worse. The one thing I will agree with is DLC prices being too high - $60 for a tank is ridiculous. Even $20 for a tank is too much.

Before it was simpler since you only had to level up to unlock things, with the current system add the factor that you must unlock everything to be able to access certain improvements that depend on specific squads and that could be in other categories

So after 20 hours you’ve figured it all out more so than those of us who have been here a year or several - awesome.

Bloody genius you are…

I like the game a lot, but I do feel it is predatory. As you said paying for vehicles which are $40 per at least is outrageous. We use to buy whole games for $40. Original CoD… MOHAA. awesome games that lasted years. At the end of the day if you bought everything and a years worth of subscription for Enlisted its probably more than $500. Oh well, any wayI’ll keep playing f2p.

Don’t worry about the big premiums. You’re not missing out all that much.

If I were you, I’d wait until there’s a sale on Premium time. During those sales, it’s 50% off for 365 days, which is more than worth the outlay, especially if you play regularly.

And as mentioned, a focused run on a faction can unlock the TT pretty quickly.

Remember, you don’t need to rush to BRV. It’s a sweatfest and not completely enjoyable for the more sane of us. BRII and III is where the fun’s at. Focus on unlocking them instead,

I’m sure that will help as much as usual - don’t forget your thoughts too… I’ll be sure to make the required space for them…

I honestly don’t see how that is possible. I am often in the top 3 scorers in a game and i’ve never got 20k RP from it.

Not sure where your anger and hostility is coming from. I just gave my opinion on research and some predatory practices from the perspective of a noob, which I believe this style has probably deterred many people from actually playing the game more than once or twice. I probably should have put that in their. Don’t get so upset about other peoples opinions. They don’t hurt anyone. Cheer up Mr. Piano.

Heres a fairly run of the mill score for me, idk how this compares to yourself now. But in this match in particular, it wasnt great for me, I know I got so fed up of my team due to engineering score reasons, I just decided to relax in an aircraft for a bit, so that lowered my score.

But despite all that, I still made 60k+ RP from it. Match loss as well, also didnt use random army like I normally do, and no booster since I was trying out new lineup for BR2 Western Allies. Only prem for the 60k result.

Like as you can see from that score there, Im not a particularly good player, but even then I can get some fairly decent rewards.

Also dont worry about @Josephs_Piano , hes just like that, welcome to the forums btw, plenty of wacky characters about.

I appreciate it, I get similar kills, fewer assists, maybe blow up 2 or 3 vehicles a game depending, but i don’t ever bother with engineering which i noticed contributes a lot to your score. I also havent unlocked that class yet, but does fixing vehicles count? I’m still new and don’t know all the things you can do or how to do. I see people putting up razor wire and such, I dno how to do that.

Most paid games don’t come unlocked cod takes less time but then you have to prestige and do it all again. The tech tree is meant to take time so you learn how to play it stick to one faction and work you’re way up. Besides slots most of the paid content gives you little in the way of advantage over tech tree. Rocket art, rocket tanks and paratroopers being the rare exception.

Engineers are the first or second thing you should work to unlock. They’re not the largest squads but with the ability to slot in AT Soldiers and Assaulters it’s not bad. Also Rally Points, only buildable by engineers, are one of the best things for both points and winning the game as you can spawn 50 meters away from the objective instead of 150 meters.

If you feel like you wouldn’t get value out of it, just don’t buy anything. It’s that simple. You can play completely for free. I have no idea how that’s predatory by any means.

Its a money grab specially the squad slots free players should have at least one more squad slot and there is some P2W squads. So yes its a money grab in some aspects but not in all. Its not pure P2W but there is some P2W elements.

F-80A-5 is atypical example of Pay 2 Win squad and there is more but this is like 5% of the premiums and there is many broken event squads so its not pure Pay2Win but there is some elements.

When used right, engineers will rack up an absurd amount of score, rallies, ammo boxes and AA guns will get you the most. You ofc need an engineer squad for that, (Which really needs to replace snipers as a starter squad, its so fucking dumb you need to unlock them).

Also repairing vehicles is also a great way to get score, its why I take a large backpack on all my engineers with 3 medkits and 1 repair kit, dont go out of your way to do it, but if they are just there, its an easy things to do.

Medics can also get a lot of score which a lot of people dont realise, especially on the defence, just heal up anyone with the need medical attention symbol on them,. (Also pro trick, never upgrade your healing amount, so you can milk a few extra points, healing others that is).
