we used to be able to delete threads with at least few replies and answers
for how difficult it might sound, it was actually the case and true.
but oh well, i owe you my humblest apologies ( for once that you are not wrong and i am ).
No never be able to do this, i one time months ago asked for this feature to an admin an he replied, they cant add it
