Replace the APCBC of the PZ. III N with HE or HEAT

In last year’s update, Germany’s PZ.III N BR was changed to 3, and the Armor penetration of HEAT increased from 80 to 115. This indeed sounds like a good thing, but what I don’t understand is why the APCBC with 52mm Armor penetration was retained. This puts the PZ.III N in a very awkward situation in actual matches. There are too few HEAT rounds, which have to deal with both BR3 tanks and infantry. APCBC has no damage against tanks of the same BR and is completely useless. Therefore, I propose the following three options:

The first is to remove all APCBC and replace them with HE.
The second is to reduce the number of APCBC by 15 rounds and increase the same amount of HEAT.
The third is to reduce the number of APCBC by 15 rounds and replace them with 15 HE.
Which one do you agree with? Come and vote!

Tank ammunition loads should have a cleaner/simpler composition. For the same reason, I’d like the large quantity of AP shells on the Cromwell I to be split into HE and APCBC.

Haha, yes, but we still need to set up some options.

Tweaking this tank’s ammunition setup has long been overdue.
There were some players who claimed we should keep those 80mm penetration APCBC rounds for fighting low-rank vehicles. That was a really poor argument.

I think Gaijin can take the Type 2 Ho-I gun tank as an example. It used to suffer from the exact same issue as the Panzer III N: half of its shells couldn’t penetrate Shermans and other enemy tanks. Gaijin reworked its ammo loadout and replaced all its rounds with HEAT and HE shells.
The fix already exists, it’s just a matter of when Gaijin implements it. This is the third time I’ve seen this suggestion brought up.

The perfect solution

Only 50 mm

agree shell selection is really needed the m41/75 is stuck with full aphe and smoke when it had other rounds its currently locked out of the round that the allies feared as it allowed the tiny thing to punch out shermans and in game would be really helpful against soviet armor

I think so too

just need to replace all the APHE with HEAT. Keep 5 to 7 smoke shells to support infantry assaults when needed. That would be the ideal setup.
Make the rest all HEAT rounds.

ied like a half load prersonaly tho just a shell selector would be amazing

What is this?

Oh, I get it, it’s shown on the tank interface.

like warthunders allowing one to select ammo loads its a feature we shoulda had yesterday

But I feel like that might not work, letting people choose how much ammo to bring could make some of them just stay in one spot attacking enemies, and that would be a disaster for some people.

I think this is a pretty good suggestion; it could solve the awkward ammo count for the PZ.III N. Can we pass it on to the developers? @Euthymia07-live

Not even 80mm, it’s 52mm penetration at pointblank range. The penetration value so low that it would even struggles to penetrate tanks on BR 2 so it has no place on BR 3.

I hadn’t looked into APCBC before, didn’t expect this thing to be only 50mm.

Yeah, it’s quite terrible. This is why all APCBC on BR 3 Panzer 3 N should be changed into HE instead.

To be clear, BR 2 Panzer 3 N from Stalingrad campaign and BR 2 Panzer 4 F1/E ofc should still retains APCBC for the balance. Just the BR 3 Panzer 3 N should get it’s APCBC replaced into HE.

I really don’t understand why we still need to keep the APCBC that’s only 50mm.

If the Panzer III Ausf. N were bumped up to Tier III, its armor-piercing and anti-infantry capabilities would be better balanced—avoiding the awkward situation where it currently struggles against either infantry or armor, depending on the circumstances.
