Replace/ remove the Chauchat

Nah

I know devs will keep it ww2

But at least introduce Maginot Line and give it to french as a first unlockable MG

It has no use in Moscow

We are talking about Soviets

It’s okay to give Chauchat to Germans or introduce Maginot Line and give it to French

But not Soviets

ChadChat > MG whatever
Red Army > Cold Germans
All seems to check out, don’t need to change anything.

MG- a fully automatic weapon dealing the same amount of damage as rifles so not whatever

Cold Germans- split between 2 campaigns so the playerbase is not big enough to fill the gaps of both teams

The post I was replying to was talking about hte general service life of the Chauchat.

I agree it is far more appropriate for hte Germans - the Russian Empire got 6100 of them but I can’t find any mention of them used beyond the civil war.

According to wiki Germany captured them from Belgium Yugoslavia, France, Greece and Poland.

"In addition to the obsolete rifles, the people’s milita also used “popular” sub and light machine guns, also referring to the period of the aforementioned war (WW1):

French Chauchat Mod.1915
British Lewis machine gun Mod. 1915
Danish Madsen light machine gun Mod. 1903
German Maxim machine gun Mod. 1908
French Hotchkiss machine gun Mod. 1914
American Colt-Browning heavy machine gun Mod. 1895/1914

Soviets were so desperate they had to employ WW1 guns stored in army warehouses near Moscow. So yes, Chauchats had been used. But, the fact that right now they’re outnumbering the mass-produced DP-27 is completely unjustified.

But again, Chauchat was used by the people’s militia so why not add people’s militia (and partisans) then?

I see @ErikaKalkbrenner is online, let’s see his opinion on giving ww1 weapons to militia in Enlisted

his? thanks dude…

to begin with;

people’s milita and partisans are two different things.

and

just to clarify.

anyway, good morning.

well, i don’t particulary hate the chau chat, as it brings some variety. and i’m somewhat impressed that has been introduced for the premium squads though. not in a good way.

speaking of premium squads, i don’t exepect same weapons for both faction, but at least i expect weapons to do/cover somewhat the same role.

and what is wrong with uniforms? they looks like pijamas. but that’s another lovely discussion for another time.

anyway, yeah. i think the chau chat should be replaced, and gived for another campaign, or another premium squads more fitting. perhaps french resistance? french regulary military squads? or the above mentioned squads ( people’s millita perhaps )
planty of opportunities.

unfortunally, i’m not sure which could be the replacement.
because there werent many weapons that does fit an equivalent role.
yes, there are a few of them, but if we consider that those should be in the main line up insthead of premium squads. such as dp27. and i’m not a huge fan of ww1 weapons in the second world war either.

so insthead i was thinking to change the german weapon to fit the russian one.
and i was thinking to place: Kg m/40 automatic rifle - Wikipedia

but even there, it’s debatable.

but this is my opinion. for how much is worthed on those topics.

cheers.

Exactly - and as a premium squad even!

Yeah maginot, stalingrad, pacific and bulge would be excellent campaigns to add after tuni and berlin, asuming the game lasts that long.

Strange combinations of weapons are sometimes found. The Japanese Army also deployed the Carcano Mod. 1891 and the Kar98k.

Those uniforms are not people’s militia but they look oddly blue (same for the Germans)

But their helmets with red stars actually look like Soviet helmets compared to the ones regular squads have

Oops
Sorry, I thought you are a man

than i wasn’t wrong.

i thought that i was colorblinded

i guess that’s a good sign. perhaps…

Are feeding malfunctions (apart from bolt-action rifles) and crooked iron sights actually simulated in this game? The jittery recoil and low rate of fire seem like they would be the worst downsides, but I have seen some people mysteriously consider low rate of fire a good thing, because high rate of fire can make the weapon uncontrollable. Though I disagree with that assessment, I suppose for those people the exact same reasoning would apply to the Chauchat as well!

If someone owns and has used the Chauchat often, what is the recoil like on that thing?

In game, Chauchat is okay…ish when it comes to recoil

In real life, Chauchat was known for it’s terrible recoil which ended up completely uncomfortable to user’s shoulder

I’m one of them, especially considering recoil is such a factor with LMGs, though I have yet to try the chadchat. I love the M3 right now for that reason, and it makes what little ammo it has last longer.

I bought it for being a meme gun in its entirety, however.

The chauchat was used by the soviet army during the Russian civil war, and not by the German forces it was used by the Finnish, and if I am not worng by soviet partisans.

And yes it’s a very bad gun overall, the weird part is the MG-30, this gun was actually never accepted into service by german infantry(it was used in the air force), only austria, hungary and Switzerland.

They really should work on explaining more about those squads, the only way of the Germans using the MG-30 is austrian or hungarian soldiers.

And the chauchat probably was in use fr, the soviets used every wepon they had…
